    Looking for: Disk check program

My computer's been having some... issues... lately with saving or retrieving file listings. The way it's acting, it seems to be having problems trying to read or write from the disk itself.

There any software that would be good to use to check for disk faults or problems? Don't recall if windows has anything in it's system tools that could be used...

edit: and maybe it's not that problem, but I want to remove that possibility. Anything related to files on the desktop or within subfolders freezes up when I save or try to access the file directory.

If you're looking for a simple way to scan your HDD for integrity faults. You can do this simply by CheckDisk.

As for a more advanced form of HDD data-pulled information. Go for Hard Disk Sentinel

Just as a fyi; you can get HD Sentinel free if you look around

    Ty much.

I'm almost 100% sure now that it's not the hard drive physically, but something corrupted on that part of the disk data. Booting to my hardly used x64 vista, everything works but x32 I can't load up the save as or load file dialog boxes without the application freezing...Even visual studio is having a hard time occasionally just plain saving.

    Fun times
