I don't want to get into the SMN isn't a healer arguement, as frankly I couldn't care less. SMN and PUP are the only jobs I have unlocked. But IMO if you have access to a curing spell, you should carry light staff

I carry it on BLM and I cure less that once a month (and I sit @78/80 with full gear).

BLM isn't a healer, but it can do it, so I am prepared for it (and 10% better at it than your SMN).

You are not complete unless you can fulfil every role to the fullest, this means DRKs with decent Dark sets, WHM with enfeebling sets etc etc. No one is trying to force the idea of SMN is a healer, just the idea of some one with the ability to heal deliberately gimping themselves is stupid.

Just get the damn light staff, it's not that much gil, even if you don't have to cure much it simply makes that part of your job 10% more efficient.

I really don't get this. Sure some people came on pretty strong about the light staff (because it is a pretty monumental problem).

But you came in this thread, which is all about giving advice, and you are surprised you got some advice? And it was good advice too, which could genuinely improve your job far more than the some of the massively overpriced HQs you have.

Obviously you were one of those that weren't coming for advice at all, just coming to show all your white-boxes/slavage gear/nice augs expecting us all to go "wow nice smn".

If you don't want the advice given (that by posting here, you asked for) then you are free to leave.

There really is no valid justification to not carry a Light Staff on SMN or BLM. Regardless of how often you need to toss a cure, the time does arise and being prepared for it is better than being gimp and your excuse being "lolz teh BG pplz told me to do something i dont wanna do so im gunna make them mad and not do it lolz!"

On a side note, wasn't this argument brought up the last time he posted his gear? Deja vu and what not.
