If I was Sherridan, I'd copy Rex Ryan's game plan. Play for coverage and expose Pierre Thomas for the mediocre back he is (Giants D line >>> Jets D line).

Did you see some of the runs that Thomas had against the Jets. After I watched that game and watched Thomas just explode into the secondary like he was running through paper, that's when I felt damn good about Miami's chances of beating the Jets. Their rush defense isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Isn't that what I said? Brees's passing game was leaving lots to be desired and as a whole the LBs and D line of the Giants is better than that of the Jets.

Realistic my ass. You realize we run majority draws/misdirection in the running game right? Here is the problem with doing that -- everything runs on a delay and the "holes" created are misleading. Of course it is easy to open a hole up the middle when a D-lineman goes into a pass rush towards the outside, but the issue comes when teams finally stop falling for the fakes.

KC demonstrated just how easily it can backfire on one draw play. A LB came through the middle gap on a blitz and damn near got to Romo before he could even hand the ball off. Don't fool yourself, we have no power running game and good defenses know how to stop this kind of a running game once they realize our running game is majority draw.

Just take a look at the red zone offense -- we can't even line up and knock our opposition off the line to get a couple yards. We run fucking shoutgun draws and fade routes.

Also, deep threat or not, draw plays end up meaning dick when that's all you run. Draw plays are there to mix it up, not to be the cornerstone of the running game. A deep threat may stop a CB blitz or a safety creeping up on the line, but it sure as hell doesn't stop you from telling your LB to blitz the middle gap to bust up the play behind the line.
