    Socketing Manastones...

Is there ANYTHING anyone might know or find out that works somewhat well for getting manastones in successfully?

I have heard that if you avoid doing backtobacktobacktoback sockets you will fare better as I was able to get 4 into my PvP boots waiting 1-2 minutes between socketing and when it broke on the 5th I tried doing 7 more manastones backtobacktoback and they failed 7 times in a row.

Now I know this above example is probably just dumb luck or simply the Aion crafting compass but I am willing to try things just to get my boots socketed because not having them socketed with anything is lame

    Anyone know of any tips or advice other then brute force ; ;

As far as what I have heard, RNG is RNG.

Not sure if its the same as enchanting. But with enchanting greens are easier then blues which are easier then oranges.

Far as enchanting goes, it seems to have a system based on the level of the stone. White = 1+. Green = 5+. Blue = 10+. Orange = 15+. The number being the level of the stone over the item (or in the case of quest rewards, the level of the quest). The higher level you take over that minimum, I guess your success increases.

Whether or not this system applies to manastones to some degree, I dunno. In the case of the above orange boots, it'd technically be impossible to place stones 15+ levels higher since the item itself caps at 40 for the stones (namely to prevent people from putting endgame stones in lowbie gear, I guess). It might be the closer to the level limit on the stone, the higher your chance of fail, but I guess the only way to really test that might be to throw a bunch of gimpy lowbie stones into the sockets and wiping them to see how success fares over time.

My luck's kinda sucked on socketing overall. Leg items ALWAYS fail for me for some reason.

In the end is it socketed?

I still have yet to see a single manastone socketing fail... And this is from leveling a SM to 18 in beta and my Gladiator that I currently have to 32... At least 100 sockets. I must be incredibly lucky.

Socketing white/green gear at those levels you run with a 98% success rate.

Its blue items and above in the upper 20's and higher where you will see fails.

    Another QQ thread? Shocker.

Gold gear sucks to socket, get a ton of stones and have fun. I got lucky on my gloves, my body and shoulders took like 40 stones each though.

So. Which stones do Templars use?

I've been stacking HP but after asking my class channel some were saying attack+crit or crit+shield or full crit

Yeah I haven't tried to socket my Kromede Bow yet since I still have a lv till I can use... but I am not sure I want to try w/+13 stones.... cost so much money for such a high fail rate.. so prolly gonna do lame +10's

Took me 89 Magic Boost Stones to socket my gloves, and in the end only ended up with 5 stones in them, because I would punch a hole in my monitor if I failed again.

Have fun. RNG is a bitch and a cunt.

HP, Phys Crit, occasional parry or attack. I still want to run some tests, my next armor set i am going to fill the slots with nothing but the best elite parry or shield defense stones and go and fight. See how much more HP I have per fight with the different builds. Which raises the real question, is it better to have more health leftover to keep chaining the EXP? Or just be decked out with crits and attack and just kill everything faster?

I'm killing a shitton faster now that I put crit in everything.

I think as far as templars go we should just focus on our dps-rate for soloing. I'm only level 20 though.

I keep hearing different things regarding shield stones... I read on AS that it only increases the amount of damage you block. This was from someone who knew what they were talking about and then when I asked in my servers /4 lots of people were spouting it increases the chances. Most of the people in /4 though seemed really stupid so... errrmmm..

Pretty sure parry/evasion are only good if you stack the fuck out of them, and then only in PvP. Putting a couple isn't going to help you.

I stack a ton of Shield and a bit of HP in my gear @ 20. I duo with a Ranger though, so she takes care of the damage. I rarely EVER rest though... the only things that do more than scratch me are considerably higher level. I hear this changes later though.
