Nothing really new in those pics sadly. All of them are taken from either the new TGS trailer or from the latest Famitsu article that was recently posted. :/

They don't have pictures of the new scans, only the old trailer pictures.

Full new scans in here http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/82706...er-2009-a.html

Totally, because LoTRO, WoW, AoC, WAR and Aion did a good job at killing FFXI on their release too ^^.

Quite honestly whether it's next gen or a previous gen game, it all comes down to:

Just because it's next gen doesn't always mean it's good. So if FFXI is killed off, good because this is the only MMO I've ever played filled with such a ridiculous amount of elitism the game is clearly at it's end when the 'standard' player has no room in a game.

Also, the new SW games doesn't even look that great, but no doubt it will attract people from every MMO for awhile, then they will flood back like usual. It's the typical MMORPG cycle.

It's always this way. New hot MMO X is going to come in and destroy everything before it. FFXI has players because it creates an insane attachment to your character and your online social group. WoW has players because it is incredibly easy to access. Other games have their players for their specific reasons. Newness wears off very quickly, and it is never enough to overcome the inertia created by older games.

    this.

Unless something is done to set new MMOs apart from the rest aside from simply rinsing out the old MMO "formula" and presenting it on a different plate, a new MMO probably won't do very well.

ATM FFXIV is a PvE game in its entirety. There aren't two factions killing each other and because there isn't PvP in mind, the entire focus can be spent on PvE polish kinda like how FFXI is. If you look at the "hot" MMOs in the spotlight right now, (WoW, Aion, TOR, maybe WAR?) FFXIV is the ugly duckling in the basket and because it is different i think it has much more potential to succeed over TOR. This is provided they fullfill their promise to make it more solo friendly and combat RMT from the start (this is important, look at Aion right now).
