Random Question Thread V: But does it 6-hit

I didn't want to necro the .dat mining thread from last month. I'm curious about these two weapons:

They don't appear to be any of the update weapons on wiki but they're still listed in the .dats, though I don't know what name. The lyft staff isn't of that style so I'm inclined to think the scythe doesn't look like that either, judging from the little icons on wiki. Anyone know what they are?

Isn't it actually possible for a rdm/nin to solo xolo?

Just DoT run kite across the whole zone starting from pop spot north then over the bridge to the other half of the zone, reapply DoTs when necessary ??? profit. Obviously wlegs would be needed but yeah, nothing really dangerous about xolo or the adds themselves

Those are the weapons used by Domina and Belle Shantotto respectively. Why SE bothered to port them to all races, though, I cannot fathom.

will depop when you hit daytime and the melee add doesn't stop to cast so it'll be hitting you constantly if you go slow enough to not deaggro xolotl

I read a while ago you can solo Satiator as rng if you have trotters and a fast crossbow. Is it possible to dualbox it as nin + whm as it can pop on the side of 3f which doesn't have a decent kiting area.

rng can solo in either side, if you mean meleeing on nin+whm no way in hell.. not sure how well shurikens would work

Going to go camp Xolawltl again soon and wondering what the lowest it can be done with, what jobs and how. Right now I could do THF, WAR or DRK and a RDM and fight it straight while kiting the skeleton adds. Is it easily done this way or do I need to add more people to get this done realistically? Also, can the THF just kite to Boneyard Gully and just keep rezoning the skeletons there or will they run back too fast to be gotten reliably like this and need to just be taken to the Maze zone instead?

It should be possible to duo, but it's probably a lot easier/safer if you add one or two more people. Some friends and I killed it for a while doing THF SMN BST BST, with the THF and SMN each kiting an add and the two BSTs killing Xolotl, but it would have been possible without the SMN or one BST, though certainly slower. A BST soloing Xolotl is quite slow, because he tends to kill the pets fairly quickly. It's nice to not have to worry about him coming after you every time you need to swap.

I've done Xolotl as Monk, Red Mage, and Red Mage (with a Thief along for Placebo Hunter). Monk/Ninja can straight tank with no worries, a single Red Mage should not have trouble kiting both adds, and the last was there to keep me Hasted, Paralyna'd, and Cured. Kiting during Danse/Gala Macabre isn't too rough, just sleep your melee and Xolotl is fairly easy to kite as he's not fast and likes to cast.

What is safe to straight tank it? Wiki has 2 dnc + whm and NPC saying "easily defeated". Is it correct that all your evasion from higher level gear stays in effect after cap?

I know the kiting path for the north 3f map is around the hole at G-6. As for southern 3f map I did remember seeing a wall that didn't seem to have any empty around it at the time, is that the kite path?

Is there a list of WSs that are affected by Sneak Attack differently than normal?

For instance, Sturmwind (and I suspect Raging Axe) both get 100% Acc on both hits when you pair them with Sneak Attack. This was formally tested for Sturmwind (Blinding Potion and IT++ mob = both hits connected multiple times), and I've been doing some similar Raging Axe tests in the Aqueducts on BST/THF (IT++ THF Fomor, SA Raging Axe both hits always connect).

Is this also true for something like SA Double Thrust? I'm pretty sure it was shown to not be true for all two hit WSs (Shark Bite comes to mind).

Uh Verdelet is on tyger path, and would be really slow solo on him that way, it took long enough before when I did it duo, or trio. And I am not sure blm could manage, it with rage, wiki says rdm/nin has.

You're right about Verdelet (Still haven't checked it, but I'll take your word for it). Out of those mobs, I think Anantanboga would be best. There was a guide for COR/NIN solo, so I cannot imagine it being a problem for BLM.

NPCs get a bonus based on how many levels above cap they are, my WAR with GA merits pizza and zerk up did less damage than my gf's attacker npc there <.<

Best results for me were with blu/nin dnc/nin whm/blm and only one npc, with more npcs I imagine many more setups would work.
