Put the STP or Subtle Blow after a decimal point and a 1, multiply the base TP by that.
21 stp = 1.21 * base TP.

Is Askar body truly a non-ideal choice for WS? 2% DA vs. 5 STR, 3 attack. A DA is roughly 30% more WS damage on RR and KJ (3.1>4.1 fTP) and a little bit more on MT (2.85>3.85), a bit less due to diminishing DA returns and a bit more because of the probability to DA more than once. Make it a straight 30% for simplicity. Times .02, that's 0.6% WS damage increase. Will 5 STR/3 attack do the same? It's close enough not to call Askar a horrible choice but god fucking dammit where the fuck is my calculator.
Aurum is actually a little worse than Askar in capped Acc situations.
.95*2.85*191 + .95*.24*191 = 560.68
Of course, Aurum (and E.body/Ares for that matter) both have higher Attack than Askar. Overall, I'd probably not WS in Askar unless I had to.
For the record, the discussion is moot because Askar + Brutal + Rajas + Bravura isn't a 6-hit even if you WS in Askar:
FLOOR(13.2*1.26)*6 = 99.6
Btw, there were invisible "Floor()"s in my last few posts >.>;;
Edit:
The way I'm doing my math is this--
[95% Hit Rate] * [fTP with Gorget] * [Weap. Dmg with a pretty solid set assuming fSTR is capped] + [DA Hit rate assumed to be 95%] * [DA rate assumed to be 24%] * [the 1 fTP that you add when you DA] * [Weap. Dmg with a pretty solid set assuming fSTR is capped] = WS damage pre-pDIF
I wasn't writing the 1fTPs into my equations because it didn't affect the results, but that was the theory. If you notice, I assumed some things in favor of DA winning though it might not always be the case:
1) High starting Weapon damage.
2) Capped hit rate for the DA.
3) Capped fSTR so the added STR is only affecting the mod.
4) Didn't factor in the Attack difference generated by 5 STR and 3 Atk.
5) Decided to compare E.body and Askar for some reason even though Acc was capped and it should have been Ares (7 STR and 12 Atk difference)
Fulltime Askar's when you're using RR for Bravura. Needs Aurum for MT usage. Sorry for not making that clear earlier.
Aaah, that makes more sense. I don't think you're obligated to WS in a Store TP body if you're using Raging Rush or King's Justice, so you could just use whatever body you wanted (E.body?)
Floor(13.2*1.21) = 15.9
Floor(2*1.21) = 2.4
Floor(13.2*1.26)*5 = 83
Total = 101.3
So you could miss a hit on RR/KJ and still be good for a 6-hit even if you don't WS in Askar.
Double Attack is worth more on RR/KJ because they're less mod-heavy, you're already keeping your Acc high, and you're focusing less on STR/ATK so your fSTR is less likely to be capped.
Double attack is worth less on KJ/RR, actually. 3.1 to 4.1 fTP. For Metatron it's 2.85 to 3.85, a bigger increase.
Double attacked hits get the 35%/50%/60% (depending on WS) STR mod and the crit potential in case of RR too. They're just 1.0 fTP and possibly (likely?) don't get the 1-hit WS properties (so a DA'd Gekko hit doesn't get the pDIF and ACC boost).
* DAs do get the secondary mods.
* It was never conclusively proven that DAs get the RR crit boost, and Masa has given up so we may never know about that.
* DAs don't get the 1st hit Acc bonus, because only the first hit gets that.
* DAs probably don't get the Y/G/K/Ground Strike/Steel Cyclone/etc. pDIF boost, but I doubt it has ever been tested.
I meant that DA was relatively worth more on RR/KJ because you don't have to have Acc to land your WS on Metatron. If your Accuracy drops, your chance to hit a double attack drops, so DAing is valuable.
You can also only DA once on Metatron, but can DA twice on RR/KJ and have a much higher chance of doing so because you swing three times.
24% DA rate = 76% chance to not DA.
.76^3 = 43.9% chance of not DAing at all.
So with a 24% DA rate, RR/KJ have a 56.1% chance of DAing at least once. 41.6% chance of DAing once, 13.2% chance of DAing twice, and a 1.4% chance of DAing three times (not sure what they do with this case, because I know you can't DA three times on one WS)
With a 24% DA rate, Metatron Torment has a 24% chance to DA.
It is hard to do the math for RR/KJ because the probability calculations just get overwhelming, but here's an example of how it could play out -
If you work it up, Metatron has a 24% chance of DA so it is:
.24*(3.85)*.95^2 + .76*.95*2.85 = 2.89 effective fTP after DA, tossing out all cases where anything misses.
Raging Rush or KJ has:
.439*3.1*.95^3 + .416*4.1*.95^4 + .132*5.1*.95^5 = 3.07 effective fTP after DA, tossing out all cases where anything misses.
Single-miss cases are obviously going to affect RR/KJ a lot more than Metatron.
That's a solid argument, yeah. I stand corrected.
Normally, for my MNK, I use text-based macros for everything. However, this makes leaving on ATK gloves during Focus a bit problematic. To avoid manually changing them every time, or having a separate macro strictly for my hand and head pieces, I'm wondering if I should use SpellCast for this specific purpose. I already use it for BLM, and would appreciate any help in this regard. I looked through the "MNK SpellCast" thread, but didn't see anything about this, so I figured I'd ask here.
Specifically, what I want to be macroed in while I'm using Focus is:
Head: Walahra Turban
Hands: Melee Gloves
Whenever Focus is down, I would like to be wearing:
Head: Anwig Salade
Hands: Noritsune Kote
How would I go about this? I would know how to fill in the blanks for the complete gear sets since I already use SpellCast, but wouldn't know how to make it check for this status myself, if possible. If any more info is needed nonetheless, I'll supply it.
Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know what the leather sub requirement is on Igqira Huaraches?
Code:<if buffactive="Focus"> <action type="equip" when="engaged|aftercast" set="FocusOn" /> </if> <else> <action type="equip" when="engaged|aftercast" set="Standard" /> </else>
BG answer: Silly you. You don't need food to leech in an Astral burn.
Real answer: Depends on the camp/target monster/buffs/etc. If Acc is capped, meat. If Acc is uncapped at all, Pizza +1. If Acc is bad, sushi.
Mithkabobs give Atk+22% (cap 60) and STR+5.
Pizza +1 gives Atk+21% (cap 55) and Acc+11%.
Sushi gives Acc+15% and STR+5/DEX+6.
Meat Mithkabobs maybe too high attack for a monk at that level (272) depending on gear, buffs, merits and SJ etc.
If your attack is 204 or lower for the majority of the time use the Dhalmel range of food (Steak/Stew/Pie).
If it's higher than that use Mithkabobs. At 326 Attack swop to Coeurl.
Fight VT monsters with a Bard, Corsair, and Ranger. Naw, not really. I just provided the meat because I knew someone would be all "oh shit, wat about meet?" if I didn't.
I'm wondering which would be better for Catastrophe.
Hecatomb head OR the Moogle reward head with STR+4, INT+4 and WS damage +2%?
