Could a MNK and a PLD(or BLM, or second MNK I suppose) reliably duo Sheep in Antlion's Clothing? Neither of us play on PC, so no APradar/.dat mods, and neither of us really has much experience with it either.
Don't know if this is the right place but...anyone have a good PLD spellcast that I can use to modify? I know how to augment it to fit me, would just like to have one to go off of though and for some ideas on gear to use in situations etc. Thanks.
Stanislav's PLd [Windower.net]
This one's fairly fleshed out. There's a pretty decent gallery of user-submitted XML on the windower website.
Yea, saw Stan's and there was another decent one out there as well, was just looking really to see what people have and kinda cut and paste some things from different .xmls.
looking to build a decent tiamat flight setup for my paladin. just wondering, does Hrotti's 10%- breath damage taken also account for tiamat's normal attacks when in air? or just stuff like dragon breath tp moves?
I dont know the answer, however I find it to be redundant, you should be wearing Hrotti while she's in the air.
That's not breath dmg, it's just a normal attack round. Think breaths are only dragon breath, heat breath etc etc and iirc breath -X% taken doesn't effect it because it has a hard cap and is based off of the HP when using breath so you're blocking 10% out of like 1000, which is 900 but the cap is 500 etc...not so sure if I'm recalling that correctly lol.
Are there any lower level mobs that drop a consistent amount of gil? A friend is trying to test gil finder items and was looking for one.
All iI could think of off hand were sky things such as Faust, but that's not very time effective.
During flight tiamat's attacks are fire based elemental attacks. The most efficient way to reduce damage is around 150 fire resist in gear then a whm's barfira (+120~) and fire carol (+50). With 320 you should reach resist rate cap, any additional slots can be filled with MDT or MDB gear to further reduce damage.
You can also just use a standard MDT/MDB build and get the damage to more than managable levels but as your blms begin to reach cap (requires decent blms assuming you only nuke when it flies) then you may find his fire attacks are just about strong enough to make it turn to blms occassionally.
I mostly agree with what you're saying, except an MDTA/MDB build lets you keep curing yourself to re-cap CE + VE. When using a fire+ resist build, you need to spam cures anyway to keep your VE capped, but takes up a song slot for Carol.
Both methods are great when played well and let you keep capped hate~
The ideal is to idle in fire resist and time cure swaps between attacks, which with 2 tanks trading hate is fairly easy. If you have a cure swap that raises your max hp then it doesn't really matter if you do time it wrong and get hit a few times. I don't really advocate using 2 plds for many fights but at ~10% hp tiamat's melee attacks can be very dangerous for even an experienced tank so I'd use the fact there is almost always 2 tanks present to minimise damage taken.
Soloing JoFaith w/COR.
I'm having issues getting space between us even w/hermes sandals. I have blink macros and what not, and I can deal dmg to him with few resists. . I just can't get distance. Any advice?
For a Rdm Drg duo in Sheep in Antlions clothing, whats the best sub for the drg?
If you're kiting him around the teleporter room, make sure you're using the pillars to their full effect. If you run around them efficiently enough you can really make distance. Can even make distance on him without movement speed this way. I don't really know exactly what to tell you about it except "really focus on running around the pillars tightly without hitting them or grinding on them." I was using a PS2 controller so it was easy. You can probably get off a shot per lap, putting up Ni every few laps this way.
