"but I'm going to bet that it doesn't account for extremely short fights with limited to no support."
Pretty much every stat has some sort of loss, not just haste.

Question: Since I have DRG at 75, what should I focus on meritting in, I know so far Polearm and getting angon, but what after that? and how much in what?
Proper way to use Novia, Magnetic and Loquacious on WHM...?
Something like idle in Novia/Magnetic... macro in Loq for Fast cast then switch to Magnetic to get the conserve MP? Is there a way to benefit from all 3 optimally?
And I completely agree, but my point is that equations tend to be built around an average fight time of at least 20-30 seconds. Since that comprises about 99% of the fights in the game, it's a fair enough model, but forever we return to the mantra of situational shit. Not that I can be arsed to throw on my Dune Boots in super-fast kill environments, anyhow, but Usukane Sune-Ate sort of removed what little concern I had in the first place.
Idle in Loq/Magnetic(mp! since you should have a refresh piece on in idle set anyway, may as well have a higher max). Loq's fast cast triggers as soon as the spell starts casting, the minimal amount that it is makes macroing it before a spell pointless if you aren't already idling in it as the time swapping it in negates the casttime change, so you should macro loq out for novia after cast begins and leave magnetic on your other ear.
drg/whm and brd/nin[having brd melee for damage] should be able to kill him, do march x2 when you have decent mp if you run low switch to march/ballad II, if you have saurian helm or wyrm helm should be really easy, might be bit rough w/o one of them though. If no helm might want to kill some mobs to "level-up" your wyvern.
Final Sting might kill you, but it should be an easy duo. No Silence will make it take a bit longer but not too much. /WHM is a good source of cures, though BRD/WHM is probably enough curing power. If you're having problems with Cure V or just want to get some room to breathe, have the BRD put on debuffs so it will spam Erase rather than Cure V.
EDIT: The above setup would kill faster, but as said it could get interesting if you don't have Saurian Helm or Wyrm Armet. Pick your setup based on your gear and what you need to do to stay alive

Has there been any test done on moon phase with emphasis on droprate of rare items from chests? If so, link please.
Does anyone know where Breeder's Mask really drops? I got lucky with the gloves, but don't even know where to start with the mask since I've heard/read both Bellerophon's Bliss or Better Than One drops it.
So has anyone actually seen it drop in one or the other? (btw, I got the gloves from The Price is Right).
Better than One drops the mask, and it broke my "no-fashion-onry gear rule. It just looks so cute on a YY robe Taru Summoner.
I never managed to get the gloves, then I got banned so I obviously didn't do any full-set testing.
Speaking of moon phases, a few questions about that:
1) Where did this whole "Full Moon gives better drop rate" idea come from?
2) People who believe in that ^ also believe in New Moon = same Full Moon drop rates or worse?
3) Reason I ask about New Moon is because of "Don't farm during 25-75% moon illumination" idea. Does anyone have/know any Moon phase drop rate testing?
Duelist's Tights: do you have to cast the spell in them or is it better to use warlock's for the +enhancing (or mahatma for the chr!!). Need to keep them on all the time for enhanced spikes? I assume the damage and added effect are enhanced? Or does no one really have any proof either way?
