Is the "Damage taken" from Iron Ram Lance simply 10% physical + 10% magical, or is general "Damage taken" it's own stat applied separately?

'damage taken' works the same as, and in conjunction with, 'physical damage taken ' and 'magic damage taken' (and presumably 'breath damage taken' but that's not so convenient to test.)
Hypothetically speaking, if you were a 75RNG and had only 70 Marksmanship, how would you go about skilling it up? (In terms of time spent:skill) Repeating Crossbow and some shitty bolts on worms somewhere?
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
I wonder if you could do it with Hpemde, -STR gear, Relic Gun, Spartan Bullets, and

Technically more time spent, I guess, but I assumed by "time spent" you meant "effort expended," unless you just really need it up for something that's coming up soon.
Edit: Hypothetically speaking...
Oh wait, I keep forgetting people say that they nerfed 0 damage skillups on ranged. I know for a fact that you could get them for a while after they adjusted it for melee hits, but this has come up a few times where people say they ninja-adjusted it for ranged at a later time. Sorry.
Hi guys, new poster so dont kill me too soon.
Wanting some general advice for increasing my Drakesbane dmg on DRG. Not part of a Sky shell atm so no Heca and currently unable to afford Zahaks Mail / Cuch Mantle.
8/8 Polearm Merits
Thass
Rose Strap
Tiphia Sting
Champions Galtetea (WS Acc / WS Dmg)
Chiv Chain
Assault Earring (Fowling for Bird camp)
Brutal Earring
Neuveo Coreslet (Double Attack and Acc+10)
AF1+1 Gloves
Flame Ring
Raja's Ring
Foragers Mantle
Warwolf Belt
Blizter Poleyn (3 Haste 7 Acc)
Marine M Boots
WS Gorget I think is the only glaring thing I see there which would be relatively easy to get. Also hurray for DRGs who understand 6 hit!
Many moons ago (read: over 5 years), I was a 75 RNG with 269 Marksmanship and 0 Archery. In my defense, this was back when most people did a combination of Holy / Acids (still a good combo today) and Iron Musk. Gun +1 > HF; I just went with the flow.Originally Posted by Rocl
It took me maybe 5 hours no joke to go from 0 to 269 Archery with Sleep Arrows. Ranged skills skill up almost every shot. I suggest buying a 12 stack of Sleep Bolts and moving your way up the crab family tree since they have 0 resistance to sleep and are pretty durable. Nothing better than getting over 2 levels on a single barrage.
Does anyone know how much acc is needed for demons in Dyna-Tav?
RDM question. Woot woot.
Alright, I leveled RDM to 70 on another character about 4-5 years ago before I created Despain, and thus I've lost a lot of knowledge about the job, but still have a pretty basic idea.
My question is as my RDM is 36, and I'm pretty sure it'll get to level 75 relatively quickly, what should I focus on primarily? /WHM sub I'm assuming is the best way to go... should I stack MND+ gear in slots where I can't up my MP? Figured MND+ would be more benefitial than INT+ for enfeebling (Paralyze, Slow, etc).
Also, what merits should I focus on? RDM specific, since I already know I have to cap enfeebling.
RDM Specific merits entirely depends on what you're using RDM for. And are we talking gear for EXP or other shit? I mean EXP there's not much to think about for the most part, slap on MP and Refresh for curing bitches, stack M.ACC for sleep&silence, and try to find a good balance of M.ACC and MND for Slow/Paralyze (and use INT for Blind).
If you can't get MP in a slot, idk go with Enmity down, Conserve MP or some shit for bullshit curing/buffing gear. And the whole subjob thing is entirely dependent on where you go, who you ask, and what you're doing. Personally I'd use /SCH over /BLM nowadays, but I still prefer /WHM just in case most of the time.
I don't know if this answers anything because I'm a moron.
That actually answered everything, thanks. I've yet to level BLM to 37 >.>; but I'll just astral burn it, since I don't give a fuck about BLM.
I'm at work so can only go from parses on the LS website rather than filtering them out specifically for demons but I've always parsed 90-94% acc for the full run in Tav with around 423 ish Acc, 433 ish with Hasso (I think, working it out in my head. Varies by 2 acc in non-aftermath gear.). That's from seven months worth of parses. That 90-94% will also be factoring in having to seigan at times, more evasive job types and the occasional flash/blind/horrendous acc down from Fomors.
I can't give you an exact figure but THF's aside, anything around the 420+ mark will probably cap you on most mobs there. Might be able to get away with less.
The SAM's that go with us have had acc varying from 77-85% which is slightly higher than what they did in the two parses I have of them at MJSP North camp (78-82%) if that's any help. No idea what their acc is or if they switch gear for Tav though =/
No, I think they are more stating that using Seigan negates a good portion of the reason that SAM or /SAM is so good. Hasso provides a lot of bonuses that can not be used in a chariot fight, in much the same way that /NIN jobs have to cast Ni. Very rarely do they have to cast Ichi really.
And again, are you really making the argument that casting shadows is the make or break in a chariot fight? Experience and expertise have a much higher influence than casting shadows.
What job are your parses with? I'm specifically looking at sam. 90% of the time I have to go as rdm but on that 10% I'm trying to figure out if pizza is acc overkill or not.
I go as Apoc DRK/SAM.
The SAM's who go with us parse 77-85% without acc food. They use Red Curry Bun more often than not I think. I don't pay much attention anymore.
One of the SAM's gear for reference. Recently he's been parsing about 83-84% ish (Only recently got Ace's)
Hagun
Smart Grenade
Ace's
PCC
Brutal
Bushi
Haub +1
Dusk
Sniper's +1
Rajas
Cuch Mantle
V. Belt
Byakko's
Usukane
He swaps to ohshit gear quite frequently I think which may impact his acc.
EDIT: That might not be his normal gear actually, that's just from a random screenshot >_>
Ok, thanks a ton for the info.
For Fish ranking: If Chenon is asking for Grimmonite, can you turn in the Ahtapots as well being that their the western analog?
You shouldn't really "focus" on anything. Have multiple gear-sets, just like any other job.
I'm leveling RDM right now, currently at 58. Here are the gear-sets I have:
- Idle
- Resting
- Max MP (swapped to once I've rested to full in resting gear, or on Convert)
- Para+Slow Potency (absolute maximum MND, including wand+shield)
- Para+Slow Hybrid (same as above but with HQ staff instead of wand+shield - for slightly more resistant targets)
- White Magic Debuff Accuracy (HQ Staff, MAcc/Enfeebling Skill where possible, MND where not - used for on/off white debuffs like Silence, and can be used for Para/Slow on really resistant targets)
- Black Magic Debuff Accuracy (HQ Staff, MAcc/Enfeebling Skill where possible, INT where not - used for all black debuffs and sleep, potency doesn't matter, just landing it)
- Elemental Magic
- Buff Casting (Fast Cast, Haste, Conserve MP, Enmity- - used for casting Refresh/Haste/etc)
- Cure Casting (Enmity-)
At 60 I'll add a Fast Cast "set" (consisting of AF hat) to be swapped into before longer spells.
Have many gear-sets, you can easily create good sets for every type of spell, don't try and make one "cover-all" set, you'll just end up being mediocre at everything.
