What's a workable strat for Byakko these days? It's a long time since I went anywhere near that cat, and all the strats I see date from 2004.
Doable with 12 players including BRD, RDM, PLD, and damage from BLM/RNG/SMN? Thanks.
Doable with a competent six-person party(in a party setting, I prefer dual NIN/DRK tanking with PDT kits). Doable with three RDM who know what they're doing(probably two, but nothing I'd risk without seeing it done).
EDIT: Strat is nothing special, stick a BRD and WHM on support duty, damage him with whatever you'd like. BLM and SMN will both worth fine.
RDM/NIN RDM/NIN RDM/NIN done
For a more traditional setup that retards could pull off:
PLD/NIN PLD/NIN BRD/BLM RDM/DRK WHM/SCH BLM/RDM and atone it to death
If you have NIN/DRK tanks, they're safer, but that means you need seperate players doing damage.
You really don't need more than 6 if people are the least bit competent, not particularly hard to cut lower than that either. If you're adding more people, use dd that feed less tp since it has no natural regain and shitty plds will eat the floor relatively quickly.
Most importantly, regardless of what you use to tank him, make sure they understand that relying on Utsusemi is not acceptable, especially in with very few people. They're going to get hit, and they need to be prepared for it.
On the topic of Byakko. Recently finished BLU sub and have a -44% PDT set on RDM. Without def food, but fully buffed (by my own spells, i.e. no songs) I was hanging around 420 defense and took on average 100 dmg from Genbu per hit. I'm guessing with Minne's and food I could bring it down to 60-70. My question: given the above setup, how does trying to solo tank Byakko on RDM compare to going with two PLD/NIN's bouncing hate?
I'm thinking:
RDM/BLU is safer because it's simpler. Reasoning: it would eliminate the reliance on good hate balance/player skill.
PLD/NIN x2 absorbs more damage costing less MP, increasing the durability of your healer(s).
You can solo-tank it with RDM/NIN better than RDM/BLU. From my experience, though, its better to just perform most(if not all) actions in your PDT equipment. You've got a pretty high chance of getting smacked around without shadows at any point due to TA, so you may as well be ready to eat damage at all times.
Anyone knows what's Tatsumaki Sitagoromo .dat for Elvaan male?
That thing looks ugly on my rdm / blm so I wanna change it!
thx ^^
225/21,Tatsumaki Sitagoromo
I've heard rumours that some people actually staright tank KB instead of kiting him, was just wondering if there's any truth to this or not.
If there is truth to it, what is the general strat? Do you use Sam's as your main form of damage? Do they Store TP and spam Gekko when he starts casting Meteor? Or is a variety of DD ok? Would they Store TP and only WS when he's casting Meteor? Or can the DD just spam WS as fast as they build TP? How much healing power would be needed?
Just generally curious, so any info would be appreciated.

I'd recommend either buying V05 or V06 to earn marbles they give better run, and though strats are bit complex for them compared to others.
Which RNG Artifact pieces are worth getting, other than hands and legs? Assume it's being burned to 75, so no regular exping for me. Also, are there any AF+1s I should look into?
Thanks.
This will probably come back to bite me in the ass, but is there an easy way to skill up Enhancing magic? There isn't a beseiged so I can't spam Protect 4 on guards and etc.
