This really isn't very similar to Twilight. The story is actually pretty decent and interesting.

But it has vampires in it, so it's obviously similar to twilight, and enjoying this show will make you gay, etc.

(Actually, I never even read or watched twilight, well I tried watching the first movie for like... 20 minutes, until I couldn't take it anymore, so I could be wrong, and this could be an exact copy, but to me it really seems different and more enjoyable than the other vampire crap out there which I really don't care about.)

What's funny is that the initial reaction when you first mention VD But Vampire diaries was made before twilight.

I watched a couple episodes from the first season and was turned off be the diary readings at the start & ending of the show. If they dropped the diaries, this would be one fine show.

Yeah, they stopped doing that after just a few episodes actually.

I don't happen to be gay, but I can admit, this show is full of sexy people, guys included. The two brother vamps especially. I'm a little scared to look up the real life age of the main girl, because if she is/was a minor at any time during this show it means... bad things about me.

Really though, it is because she is (at first) an inexplicable twin of the ~500 yr old vamp that created the main brother vamps (one is good and one is evil btw). Basically, they were both in love with the old version before they were turned and history starts to repe... I don't want to make a spoiler tag.

The show can be good, but there's also a lot of filler content. In fact, most times that the high school is the setting is filler content. As for season two, it has become a lot like the homer at the nuke plant, the only time his job is mentioned is if he's there and that isn't very often.

As for the Twilight comparisons, yes it is similar but the cast of characters is more expansive and they actually get killed off as well.

I think Nina Dobrev does an excellent job playing both Katherine and Elana. Last week when she was explaining why she doesn't want to be a vampire, I admit, I teared up.

I don't think anyone is yet as no one knows she's dead.

All in all, was a good episode but last week's was better. Not much of a cliffhanger in comparison to last year though.

Damon's still pretty, even with shiney fake sweat all over him.

the super werevamp is like 1000 yrs old or more right? why the hell would he have an interest in a 140 yr old, and why would that 140 yr old be so famous? If he was a ripper on and off, what kind of witnesses would there be and who would pass on the info to the point that the big guy would hear about it (at the time he would have been like 65)? AND, pretty obvious next season the shipping crate with the original fam will be hunted down, all revived to save stephan.
