New cover art for the Vana'diel Collection 2. Dengeki PlayStation did a mini Q&A with Ryosuke Aiba, art director for FFXI. He hints about some of the designs in the picture being used in-game in the future and about wyrms as well. Could be a hint at the new avatar, could just be them being vague as usual.

Vague as usual but nice cover art. I wonder why they're changing it up from the previous bold designs. It almost looks like a mini expansion cover or something between a collection and a full expansion.

Slowly getting there. I'm much better than I was last week but I'm still sneezing/coughing and stuff. I take a long time to heal. >.<

Wow, that's a very nice bit of coverart.

Personally I'm hoping for the next full-on expansion to take us to the Near East, which I believe should be the homeland of the wyrms (or at least this is implied in the Wyrmseeker Areuhat helptext).

SE said a while back they had the plans laid out for two more full expansions. Whether or not they'll actually develop them is up to debate, but they've got them on the drawing board at least.

SE should really think about taking out some of the gear that is so random and has no use, the mist set? WTF is that lol. who fights at lvl 20 on winds day so they can get eva+2 THINK

Still the artwork looks great and if that hits at my pet i will never use <3

The point is that wyrms are hella-old. Maybe there is some upcoming WoTG wyrm-based content? Maybe the WoTG AV mob (Oh fuck, I know, right?) will be a wyrm

Or maybe SE will be smart and make a mob that doesn't require 40 people, but still puts up a fun fight

I've always loved the cover art for the game and expansions. I wish they'd make prints available through the SE store - I'd definitely buy a couple.

I think that the wyrm reference might be hinting at a future patch where they add ZNM type content to wotg. Specifically a wyrm at the top of Grauberg, the story has been heavily suggested the same all along. Because Square knows how much you all love staring into dead space waiting for one of their magnificently cliche fantasy dragons to show up.

Nothing wrong with that, I'd prefer cliche over completely brand fucking new so I can read up on past uses of it if I'm interested, if it's brand new and I go looking then the internet's just like 'wtf is this shit?'
