You didn't say it was bad but you jumped right in on the "ur so dumb all classes are the same till 20" argument.

    Because...they are?

Seriously, there isn't a single class that doesn't consist of "press these three buttons repeatedly until mob dies" during your first 20 levels. You simply don't have the toolset to see what your class is actually capable of at that point. It's slow, tedious, and generally just a pain in the ass -- the only thing that distracts brand new players from that is the scenery/lore.

I've lost count of the number of alts I've done that were just PAINFUL in their teens, and the only reason I stuck to them is because I knew what was waiting on the other side; I'd seen how they play at a higher level, and knew that there was a breakpoint. And the more I did it I came to realize that point was usually right around level 20, and usually due to some new skill that drastically changes either how you attack the mob or your defensive/regenerative capabilities.

There are some basic things that never change with a given class - if you don't like trying to manage a pet, then a Hunter or Warlock probably isn't your thing; if you would prefer seeing giant numbers on your screen instead of lots of little ones, Feral Druid probably isn't your thing; et al so forth and so on.

But my point this whole time has been that in my opinion you can't give any class a fair shake prior to 20.

I think what Day is getting at is that despite gaining additional tools at higher levels, the class fundamentals are there at the base, kind of along the lines of what you said. Warriors need to manage rage, granted it changes at higher levels in how much you can generate and etc, it's something that never changes from the start. Mages manage MP and attack from a distance, Hunters manage pets.

I think the point trying to be made is that a lot of people can judge if they'll like a class or not just from the basic flow of it. You can add more abilities and the like, but it's not like a Mage suddenly gains an enspell and two handed weapons at 20 and suddenly gains the ability to choose to melee or cast.

Everyone is entitled an opinion though, some people may get a feel for not liking something at early levels, some people may feel they need to delve a little deeper into the water. I think the OP should just weigh everyone's comments as exactly what they are - opinions.

So as opposed to trying out a few of those classes it would be best just to level what someone tells you to 80? Sounds silly to me but hey do whatever you want, it was just a suggestion.

Mage 1-15 plays very different than Warrior 1-15 and by that time you'll have a BASIC feeling for what the class is going to be like. I don't know why you keep trying to make it sound like I'm saying that 15=80 other than some kind of retarded epeen shit.

Christ, I'm not even saying 80, are you that dense?

I'm saying be careful where you set your cutoff for trial runs because you may think a class sucks before it comes into its own element.

    L2read?

I can read just fine, I've read you repeating yourself for 6 or so posts now. I get what your saying, you get new shit at 20. Cool. That happens at 30,40,50,60,70 and 80 as well. Your argument is silly because you'd basically have to level to 80 before you know if you like the class or not by your logic.

Again 1-15 gives you a BASIC feel for what the class is like.

Why is this such a big fucking deal to you guys? If he doesn't like my suggestion he doesn't have to do it, fucked if I care, maybe I should go back through and criticize all the other shitty suggestions in this thread. Like leveling a druid lol.

Don't you have some comments to make in the random image thread about there being no images or something. Seriously how does your post have anything to do with the OP at all?

Are you sure it's not advanced in here because that's how everyone is acting about my suggestion.

Your medication is in the bathroom cupboards and I'm sure you still have a clean bowl, milk and cheerios left over.

    You mean this one?

Thanks, it's a lot more on-topic to the OPs very specific questions than 'oh hey just spend a week levelling every class in game to 15 before deciding.'

    p.s. you still mayad

No I mean your last two posts that do nothing but attack me for no reason.

Yeah I'm very furious at the internet correction.

WHY ARE MOMMY AND DADDY FIGHTING?

Also, you may want to leave Trade and possibly General if you don't like random exchanges, sometimes these channels are useful but you're probably better off without em (it's kinda like the exchange that happened here)

Level 15 paladin? Still autoattacking and judging exclusively.

Level 15 druid? Sit in bear and autoattack.

Level 15 mage? Cast whichever rank spell you got most recently.

Level 15 priest? SWP > Mind blast > smite

Level 15 war? Heroic strike a lot.

Level 15 hunter? Uh, I think you have conc shot at that point? woohhoo!

    etc. etc.

Basically all being level 15 does is tell you if you're ranged or melee, and if you have a pet or not.

If anything, when you make an account just decide on 4 classes and try them out on the PTR on premades. At least that way you can actually see 31+ point talents etc.

    You're all fucking retarded.

Is exactly what the fuck I am saying. Someone who has never played the game might want to try these differences out before just leveling a druid to 80 cause someone on a forum said so.

Which I've said about 8 times since the post you quoted only because I was responding to you.

As fun as this rock 'em sock 'em robots fisting frenzy we have going on here going to go on topic for a moment:

If you start do the recruit-a-friend option, you get mega XP bonus for quests ( when in a certain radius of each other ) and can grant levels if one or the other falls behind.

If you have no one in particular to do that with I'd be glad to, been wanting to start up a warlock or shammy lately.

Point is it tells you what they are, which anyone can do, it doesn't tell you what they're actually like to play, at all.
