RESISTANCE 3 BETA FAN APPRECIATION

After 3 long years the time is almost upon us. Resistance 3 will soon ship to the masses. But before it does we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all you fans. Not only have you given us valuable feedback, but you have supported us and without you, there would be no Insomniac. Never has this been more prevalent than in our Resistance 3 Beta. It has not been the smoothest sailing, but the feedback and help we received from Beta participants has been invaluable.

To start we wanted to get everyone back together for one last go at the Beta before launch. We would like as many players as possible to join us and celebrate the conclusion of the Beta and the launch of Resistance 3. We are offering all players (starting August 30th) an exclusive MP skin... R2 SRPA Nathan Hale. All you have to do is jump on the Beta and go a few rounds between August 30th and September 4th. The Hale skin will then be ready for use when you pop in your new copy of R3.

But wait there's more! While many people love and praise the new direction of Resistance 3’s MP, we also wanted to give a nod to longtime fans. We are announcing a new playlist called *Classic Hardcore*. It's got all the exciting R3 action minus Berserks and abilities. This is for those players who want to go toe-to-toe without the extras. Classic Hardcore will be available Day 1!

We are not content on ending things there though. We know Resistance fans are a little twisted too. So we have also decided to offer R3 Beta players a special MP taunt to help you gloat in your awesomeness. This taunt is definitely NSFW, so don’t let your mom see.

Again you will have to play the Beta starting August 30th to qualify for these gifts. Just a reminder, starting today the Beta will be open to the public.

Played some of the beta, not too sure how I feel about everyone having access to the doppleganger ability at lvl1. Gameplay handled great though, better than what I recall of R2, and looks better in motion than some still shots I came across that kinda nitpicked its aliasing and low rendering resolution.

I think I'm just sour over R2's single player still. It didn't grip me at all and felt disjointed compared to R1.


Unfortunately for me I get to wait until November to play it as I intend on picking up that 24" Sony 3DTV (my 24" monitor died, using my 13" HDTV as a backup), as I'll be getting R3 as a pre-order bonus with it.

Just got this and am trying to start it up but it had to install and install so I could play it. little annoyed about that but whatever. I was lvl 30 in the demo and was pretty decent. I wonder if they'll switch anything over in the demo to the game. Like medals and whatnot. I had a lot of them.


Okay, gotta admit, that's kind of gay. I have to buy an Online pass to play this online. Not a big fan of that at all.

Just put the game in and it's installing.
it started by saying 13min remaining, shot up to 60min, currently @82 minutes remaining and I"m at 2%. wtf

and this is for 656MB...

edit: restarted it and no I"m at 31min left, 6%done.

Does Resistance 3 have the one online 8player Co-Op mode that was in Resistance 2 that had tank, medic , support/dps rolls?

Have you never played a beta before, almost always your rewards in a Beta never carry over, Gears 3 from what I have seen is the only one that has had carry over.

How is the multiplayer? I absolutely adored 2's but somewhat skeptical about this one's since it seems very CoD-ish (not that there's anything wrong with CoD, just Resistance2 had this awesome kind of uniqueness about it... until people started exploiting the Wraith).

Why do you say that? Was by far my favorite part of the game and also the reason I wont be getting this one :/

The multiplayer is decent, it definitely doesn't feel like CoD in the slightest. There are some definite balance problems though, the Atomizer and Wildfire are pretty ridiculous but at least you get them late in the game so there's only a few people abusing them for now.
