All hail Lord Yamcha
Land(Time)Stalker
I remember playing Landstalker when I was younger on Genesis and having fun w/ it but I can't remember much more outside of that. From anyone who actually remembers, is it worth a replay and then moving on to the dreamcast time stalkers?
-
No, just read a script/summary somewhere. Its a pretty good game but I don't see much point in replaying it.
Time Stalkers itself is pretty mediocre game anyway.
-
I remember it, and even replayed it within the past year. Its story is nothing special, but I guess that was never really the point. Just a puzzle adventure game that I'd call harder than Zelda (un)intentionally.
If I'm not mistaken, Alundra for the PS1 was made by the same guys, though it abandoned the isometric view for an overhead. It's still a tough game and enough to make you pull hair out at times. I'd give it a shot if you liked Landstalker, at least.

Alundra is fucking great. Try beating it the first time without a FAQ, it's almost impossible, yet very rewarding. The game has perfect balance when it comes to difficulty, I never felt like a puzzle was too hard even if it took me a half hour to figure out one screen.
So yeah, Alundra, awesome, etc.
-
Alundra was pretty cool, yeah. Can't say the same for the second one though.
-
Alundra 2 is one of those games I avoided like the plague based on reputation alone.

I picked it up hoping it'd be more of the first, but... eh, I guess you could almost call it a bad Mario 64.
