It pops up as a debuff icon, not sure if it gives you a chat message.

Has anyone thought that maybe there's a level cap on the debuff for each area? I know rifts have level caps, but maybe if you're in a certain area where there are level 20s, and you're level 30, it will apply to EVERYONE that you kill, not just lower levels. That seems like the simplest way that they would do it.

are people allergic to patch notes or something?

they explained how it works. every kill gives you points that go towards activating a curse or judgment debuff. killing players who are lower level than you just gives you more.

Fucking HATE the "free for all" system of fighting monsters, or in other words, no actual claim system. God damnit, I'd give so much to see shit pop red OR purple again like the good ol' days in Aery back in '05, kill stealing can smd.

rift camping is teh gay. seems like if you don't get to a rift the moment it opens there's almost no way you're getting through it to do spy quests. sure, this rift might be level capped 20-35, but the level 50s on the other side don't care about that.

rifts should dump you out at one of a half-dozen or more spots spread evenly throughout the map or something. getting those quests done is more miss than hit.

aion is really more of a "who can grief better" than a "who is the more skilled at pvp" game right now. hopefully that will change as the game grows

Rifting if you're below 45 is pointless. You're going to run into lv50s regardless where/when you rift. It worked for the first weeks when there were no bored highlevels around.

Am i the only one finding this game incredibly boring at level 50? I'm not sure if it's the game or just me being lazy in it but it seems like shit at 50. I don't mind grinding, i liked getting to 50, but at 50 what the fuck is the point?

Here is what a typical day could consist of

Run Dredgion, possibly get a good match, 7/10 get a match where people will leave or train mobs onto then after failing to kill you leave, making it a boring pve grind instance with no actual pvp.

Run Dark Poeta, get no drops, go out depressed that you spent like whatever the money is for blue scales + stone, to see the same old shitty blue drops that aren't an upgrade to some of the lower level blues.

Go to the abyss to try and farm bloods, only to be ganked 24/7 by the same asmo group or a sorcerer who has 4k dp and his main aim in life is to just use it on you, you get more numbers, so they will get more people, resulting in you obtaining like 2 bloods a day (will get there in no time) and having massive "skillful zerg" fest pvp

Then fortress raids, go to the gate, might aswell afk auto attack till said gae goes down, fly down to the guardian, afk auto attack pop some shit when aoe comes, continue afk auto attack. Get 2 gold medals, some fun shit there, and yes i did try this and it worked. You could say well just use abilities instead, or i could just go watch tv whilst auto attack and get more enjoyment and less RSI.

I'm not sure what form of excitment this game is meant to offer at 50 but i can't see it anywhere at all. I know MMO's are grinds at 50 and that it is all about who can grind it the most, but i just no longer see the point in it anymore, at the end of the day, you get the better gear, but it is still just a massive zerg game, where numbers mean everything.

I know I'm not 50 yet, and I'd have no problem grinding to it, but that's exactly what I've been mulling over in my head. It just doesn't seem like there's much to do especially since the other Elyos legions on Vaizel are terribad making forts more horrible than they already are. Nobody's ever taken any of the middle forts on the upper level to my knowledge so it seems like the server is just way behind or short on people.

I've been taking my time, really. Lack of quests suck, and I'd rather do them more than plain grinding since it grants a bit of variety in location even if it means less EXP overall. Plus I hate working on a chain, just to find out there's an elite at the end or that I'll have to rift. Too often the rewards don't match the hassle of getting other people to help.

People keep quitting the game cuz they're getting screwed over by the expert craft quests on our server. (can't drop and start new ones; therefore miragents is fucked for them) Vaizel is dying fast

I think for most people it's more of what MrSamuels referred to but the expert quest thing isn't helping at all.

Yeah, economy's far from stable. Kind of what I was trying to argue about the population not quite being ready for Expert level crafts, but people still force it anyway in hopes of being leeter than the next guy. Shit just trickles down from there as farmers rip them off, RMT or otherwise.

This is why I quit at 1/2 a bar till 50. I just looked ahead and saw that only Dark Poeta was left to do as I was doing Dredgion and such, pvp was horrible and there was just no point. I couldn't hit expert on my craft because I refused to farm for 20hrs a day just for the money to try once and fail.

It isn't that the economy isn't stable, its that the economy is way too money dependent for its own good... couple that w/class essential items being so rare that 90% of the population just cant afford it (yet those who can set the bar for em).

NPC expenses add up, sure, but nobody's holding a gun to a player's head saying that Worthy Premium Fluxes have to go for 600k or higher. That's just people being greedy, some rich idiots buying into it, and then everyone else eating their shit because they had to "suffer" through the expense. Of course, cost can reasonably tie into the item's rarity, and that is something NC could easily address.

Otherwise, it's usually possible to get some modest equipment from questing. No, it's not the best, and I do agree crafted stuff should be better since it's not "free" in that respect, but the whole competitive peer pressure aspect doesn't exactly make life easier for the "casuals" who can't treat Aion like a second job, but still have to get (indirectly) bossed around by those who can.

I didn't play WoW largely for aesthetic reasons, but I can recall people loving on FFXI because its population was smaller and allegedly more tight-knit. I'd refute it was smaller because people hated taking it up the ass with retarded timesinks, and some of us who are familiar with XI aren't looking to repeat that. Being rewarded fairly for time isn't automatically a hand-out, but those that really love the grind will bitch and moan otherwise, especially if others get it easier later on down the road. Think Thief Knife.

my moto for aion is pretty much... get miragents beat the game on that character (lol), yes... there is better gear, and I'd still do DP, ect... but after u get 6/6 miragents (only hard part is getting past the crafting stage of the quest), there is very little reason to keep grinding on "said" character because I'll be damned if I'm to endlessly farm AP to only die out of carelessness and lose 13k+ AP in a single moment
