why put an east coast server in texas?

many companies can't afford to put servers in different locations. Also as dick as it is for me to say: welcome to the world of the west coasters (I had 400ms without proxy prior to this move) since the update I get like 70-300 (massive fluctuation) the ping problem in aion is mostly their servers and the companies they hire to handle the bulk of their traffic being complete bottom of the barrel.

very wishful (the 5 remaining non-european servers are all located in texas, nezaken included)

all these comments like "why aren't the servers in their respective regions" and the like is silly; they've NEVER hidden this fact, and have even stated the primary reason for "regions" on the servers was purely for in-game timing purposes (dredgion/fort cycles)

since this is the complaint thread; I should oblige myself
canceled my subscription last night, it's payed until October and I'll continue to play but only way I will re-sub is if they make a turn around with their public relations (monitoring transfers/server balance, doing real in-game events)

Aion is a great game, it had unbelievable potential, but almost all of it has been squandered away

to clear this up: understand my character was named "VermiVZ" for that day cause I was trying to think of a new name to go by, and ended up going with "Vermillion" (my ranger's name) instead of something new. And because of that name change I'm not "in the log" for the kill, cause "VermiVZ" is but VermiVZ is no longer a character and as such not given a reward

Same thing happened to numerous other people on other servers it seems, cause characters were basicly picked straight from the game log of those kills (basicly just reading the log and picking names) they didn't even check for correct/wrong alliance/groups etc. just the names. Not even the character ID numbers(as registered server side)

it just shows all the more how little "tools" they have to even manage their own fucking game. It's embarrassing to say the least.

But yeah baring this dash of the deavas rewards and seeing them actually get involved, I won't be around much longer in this game anyways.

Should have just tried to fake korean citizenship so I could just play on the korean servers where the game is actually taken care of, no fucking point in playing on the NA/EU servers at the current rate.

This game was great for the first few weeks .. but as things stand now I would not recommend this game to ANY MMO player. The GMs (what are they in Aion again?) and dev team for the ruined a great game. They changed some key mechanics just for the NA/EU players. The total bullshit with the dash of the daeva rewards (WTF was the point with that if both factions get rewards? They should have just given every player 10 crowns 2 weeks ago and called it a day .. but still they drag it out). Waiting around for DC universe online now .. hopefully sony wont destroy that one before it gets started good

Sometimes I'll run into three or four 50s that are AFK standing around waiting for the tears to spawn for Miragents. I love it.
