I got the key the first time i ever ran in to the area it was just in some mob someone else killed and didnt loot long enough to let me loot it. So i didnt even do anything to get it.

You can get into FT at 28. Had a 28 Sorc come with us today... he was bothering the PT leader enough to let him in and as soon as he does he aggros 4 mobs or so.

If a Lv28 could get in, the access quest must be bugged. Item description from Fire Temple Key states:
A small key with flame patterns engraved on it. Double-click to begin a quest. Elyos, level 30 or above.

I've done FT as 30 Templar a few times and I notice your healer needs to be good and your DPS need to be aware. This is for the last boss only, the pulls are fucking easy, the only part which could potentially wipe the group is the last boss if your healer is struggling to heal stupid DPS who are getting hit by AoE. I don't understand why they don't just run out of AoE. The one time I died tanking Kroemode or w/e was because the healer was doing a group heal instead of healing me because they were just standing in it's AoE. Bad kids.
