for people like me who aren't smart; what she say and what did all that garbage mean?

She said "I'll make a GUI in Visual Basic and see if I can pull an IP address."

GUI (Graphical User Interface) The front end of a program designed to make use easier e.g mouse and icons.

Visual Basic - A simple programming language.

IP address - a unique string of numbers that identifies a device connected to a network.

The only part of what she said that made sense was pulling an IP address. Yes, you can attempt to create a GUI using Visual Basic, but that in itself does not help get someone's IP address.

Uh there are a couple things, the main one being she pronounced "GUI" as "Gooey". Also, you can't track an IP address by using VB lol.

i actually did an entire paper on this particular subject based around laura croft, needless to say the males portrayed in video games are just as idealistic, though on a more related note there were about 50/50 for people viewing laura as an icon or as a chauvinistic portrayal of women, was pretty interesting actually especially considering almost all of the articles i found were written by 'feminist' writers

Well in a lot of academic disciplines, discussing the role of women or gender - or paying specific attention to women when it might not be "typical" or "necessary" given the status quo of the discourse - automatically makes it a "feminist perspective". Personally, I think that occurs for reasons more political than anything academic.

Anyway, thought I would contribute instead of just being some elitist wannabe academic asshole. (Because, really, that's not about to change anytime soon.)

edit: NM, the dolphins are drawn with the shadows, as opposed to the light portion being the couple. I still say fuck that image. It's just like that stupid vase/people kissing image. Some people look at positive images (light colored shapes) instead of negative images (dark colored shapes) first and foremost.
