So, I heard that gummi bears expand when placed in water, so last night my roommate and I ran an experiment and then another friend wrote up a lab report on it. Thought it turned out pretty good so I'm posting it, with pictures!

This was the remains of the gummi bear placed in warm water. Although hard to see in the picture, it appears as though there is actually no physical shape left in this bear. What you see is likely the gummi bear ghost surrounded by its gummi bear spiritual energy. I cannot verify if this is indeed a ghost, as my fear of the gummi bear curse of agamemnon has prevented me from withdrawing the matter from the nefarious water.

The cold water bear was placed in the refrigerator to aid in colditivity. A sign was placed at its base so that clueless roommates would not throw it out, and the control was placed on that sign as it seemed like the safest place for it to avoid consumption or disposal.

A top down view of the cold water gummi bear after one night. You can see that this one has maintained his bear shape even after an extended period in nefarious water. All of his bear parts are still in-tact and easily distinguishable.

The cold water gummi bear was removed from the frigid water for this photo op. As you can see, after only one night in water approaching the temperature of that that sank the Titanic, the gummi bear has expanded to about one-and-a-half its original size in height, width, depth, and endowment. Ignoring the endowment part, cuz that's fucked up, this equates to approximately 3.375 times the original volume.
