Sanctuary Season 2

A short synopsis of the series:

Sanctuary follows the exploits of Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) and her quest to protect what most people would consider monsters. "The Sanctuary" serves as a safe haven for these "Abnormals". She is aided in her quest by her reluctant protégé Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne); her intrepid, if somewhat reckless, daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup); the talkative geek Henry Foss (Ryan Robbins), a computer and security expert; and her taciturn Neanderthal-like unnamed assistant, sometimes called "Big Guy" (Christopher Heyerdahl).

Well Season 2 premiered on Friday here in the US and wanted to give us a thread to discuss it.

After Friday's episode I think the forces are stacked a little too much against the Sanctuary. I think it would have been better to draw out the protecting "blank slates" for a few more episodes. It seemed very rushed and really makes any solution by Magnus and here team seem a little to unlikely...

Is that one girl going to join the cast full time? If they get Ashley back it seems weird that they'd have 2 chicks with guns around, although I always thought the team was a little light on people.

I thought the best episodes from S1 were the ones that didn't deal with the whole Cabal/Vampire Blood plot arc, so I kinda hope they resolve this whole thing quickly and move on to more interesting stuff.

So I guess the new chick is joining the cast for the time being, although if they still give Emile Ullerup first billing during the opening credits you can be pretty sure it'll just be temporary until they get Ashley back.

This week's episode was fantastic, particularly the action sequences. This show continues to impress me, and it's looking like Season 2 is going to be even better than S1.

S1 is only 13 episodes, so for those of you who have yet to watch this I'd really recommend seeing it online!

I agree 100% and S1 set the bar pretty high. SciFi doesn't have a lot of great original shows but Sanctuary is worth watching.

Henry's altered protocols for the EM shield/other security may have allowed her to survive. I'm with you on the new girl...Don't like her at all.

Well technically Henry's protocol fixes were to fix it so they could kill em off. So if they can come back it'd be cuz of a screw up on his part. Seeing as how they shouldn't have been allowed any screw ups, I wouldn't like this path. Better than killing her off I guess.

How many people died from the EM shield? Was it just two of those super soldiers and Ashley? I think the black dude and the chick Ashley took out? If it's just two, then it wouldn't be too big of a deal if the EM shield didn't totally annihilate them, I guess. Especially since they can just use the gun on em ;x It'd really kinda suck if they killed off Ashley AND Kara... I liked her ._.a And woulda been nice to see Will get some for a while (, before it got taken away >.>a)

In all honesty this show kinda started to bore me during the first season, but I really liked the direction it took near the end. Also helped that I was in a foreign country and that was one of the few english shows I could watch at the time XD

just like X-Files I think my favorite episodes from S1 were the non-canon ones, the ones that dealt with them going out and taking care of random abnormals. Hopefully they wrap the Cabal arc up for good before the end of this season (because I wouldn't mind watching someone punch that head cabal lady in the face).

I was thinking a good big plot arc/cliffhanger for S3 would be the return of the Vampires, I thought they didn't really fully flesh out just how technologically advanced/powerful they were besides the 1 episode where they go to retrieve the source blood.
