Viruses that compromise accounts

I use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.5.0i, and always keep it up to date. I don't augment it with MalwareBytes and ComboFix, I will look into those immediately.

The only third party tool I use is Windower (obtained from the official site), with a few downloaded plugins (blinkmenot), so I don't think this is the problem. I don't use any other third party programs on my accounts as I hold the linkshell bank, and won't risk it being banned.

As for the account info getting out other ways, it is possible but unlikely. I won't discredit it, but I'm more interested in rooting out any possible viruses I may have and discovering what they are before anything else is compromised. I appreciate your post, going to go look into MalwareBytes and ComboFix.

I'm always amazed on HOW ppl come across viruses and trojans. I've had my run ins, but its always been my fault for downloading that wrong file and running that wrong crack. Its never been too serious. Frankly, people who get viruses deserve it as they didn't take preventative measures. McAfee is pure shit, and so is Norton. Use Kaspersky, its really effective and doesn't control your entire system.

You entirely missed my point which was that you do not need to shit up Firefox in order to gain a small feature that IE can accomplish (which is rarely needed), since you already have IE, assuming you are working on a Windows computer.

You made it sound like it was completely necessary to have this add-on and inserting it wasn't a big deal, and I am suggesting you are incorrect.

Well man, it was not my intention to "Shit" on firefox, my bad if that was what you interpreted, yes i know that IE is there for those kinds of things, but we both know IE is a freaking piece of flawed software so i usually block it from machines.

Don't block it, just take the shortcut off the desktop and replace it with firefox. People who need IE for legitimate reasons and know what they are doing will know where to find it.

i personally use IE for stuff like NFL.com - Official Site of the National Football League and things like that (espn, foxsports etc). i also like using IE for updating windows when i want to check to make sure auto updates didn't miss anything and i HAVE to use it for dd wrt firmware on my linksys router because firefox flat out doesn't work for me (had to change firmware to avoid buying a damn $100 wireless adapter but that's a whole other subject)

firefox with noscript and adblock isn't a universally useful program for everything.

Given Microsoft's history of poor programming practices, I don't trust the plugin not to have other holes in it. Given that it isn't necessary for anything important, having it leeching system resources for no gain seems like a bad deal to me. If having it uninstalled hinders Microsoft's plans for their .NET platform, that's no loss to anybody but them. Even if you don't choose to uninstall the plugin, I hope that my info was helpful for anyone who got jacked and couldn't figure out how it happened.

did some searching, no port scans on my firewall from that IP address at all, noscript has bluegartr.com, google.com, google-analytics.com, and wowhead.com (set that up testing the greasemonkey script for the website and never bothered to remove it). So nothing else on the server at all, if anything I think you might want to check your system out specifically. Ill pass the info on to the server admins and have them do a quick check but I think its on your end.

Yet it's still leaps and bounds safer than IE ever will be mainly because it didn't rely on ActiveX.

For me personally, after getting booted off while in-game with the "this account was logged in from another terminal..." message, I found JAVA_BYTEVER.DE on my computer after doing a full scan with anti-virus.

Luckily, I was able to reboot the attacker and reach the password change screen before they were able to.

I think my Java Runtime Environment wasn't the most up to date.
