I'm all ears
I'm all ears
It's not slang though. No one in the history of man has ever used the term "irregardless" in the context of a slang phrase.
if it's in the dictionary it follows the dictionaries form of slang. if you want to argue that the definition of slang in the dictionary is not correct that is a totally different matter. but if it's being put in the dictionary than it needs to be categorized under the dictionary's definition.
note: I've been having to study this a lot for the cest, added to that studied it in college....but sadly that was 9 years ago, i wish i still had my text book to cite sources from there. that class was really informative.
The dictionary doesnt even list it as slang, that's how this whole fucking thing started. Stop making up rules based on a book that you can't even fucking follow correctly then ignore when it's convenient.if it's in the dictionary it follows the dictionaries form of slang.
The word isn't slang, it's not a colloquialism. It's a word that people used because they got the actual fucking word wrong. As a result it's listed in the dictionary (WHICH YOU KEEP BRINGING UP) as being fucking wrong.
Shit it's like a religious debate without any actual religion to excuse someone for being stupid.
If it followed the dictionary's definition of slang it would be listed in the dictionary as slang. Like EVERY other slang term that has found its way into the dictionary.
I'm gonna end it here.
Irregardless is not slang, it's not contextually casual or familiar and used as a way to replace another far more proper word to lighten the mood of discourse. It poses as proper speech and when called on it fucktards try to call it slang to get away from it being blatantly wrong. It's like wearing a tuxedo to casual friday but your dick is hanging out. You cant fall back on it by saying it's casual friday, especially when NOTHING ELSE on your ensemble is remotely casual.
Sometimes incorrect is just that, stop posing. FUCK.
I said I was ending it (this whole lame attempt at you coming up with a response), I didn't say I was stopping. What I posted did end it, your responses are all trying to make a dicktuxedo the same as a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
you ended nothing.
Keep telling yourself that, s'cool.
Like I said, I thought you majored in this shit.
I did, and clearly I am not the only one that thinks this way. I've already refuted your claims with examples, and your entire time you respond with "no you're wrong, you're stupid'. If you were someone who actually tried to refute back with examples and attempts at proof, then that's something else. Rather, you just seem more to want to prove me wrong out of dislike for me versus actually knowing what you're talking about. So, yes, you haven't changed my thinking at all.
You're absolutely retarded if you think that whether or not I get along with someone affects my killing their shitty arguments on sight.
As for not being the only one who thinks that way, look again. Day just argued the word's right to exist, which no one contended in the first place and howard wasn't even really quite sure what the argument's basis was. Every other person in this thread who has chimed in has vehemently opposed your bullshit. The cheese stands alone.
The way I mod has nothing to do with this topic, yet you point it out. So, yes you come off that way whether you think you do or not.
I wasn't referring to forum posters...As for not being the only one who thinks that way, look again. Day just argued the word's right to exist, which no one contended in the first place and howard wasn't even really quite sure what the argument's basis was. The cheese stands alone.
In this discussion the posters are all that I'm concerned with. If you wish to bring someone else in so they can be wrong too you're more than fucking welcome to do so.
The way you mod has nothing to do with me calling you a terrible mod, we're long past that point. Before you attempt to call it a contradiction, I've been using it as my name for you for months. Whether or not I come off as disliking you personally doesnt change the fact that I am just as prone to jump on a shitty argument made by someone I'm friends with as I am to jump on a fucking terrible ass argument by someone I dislike.
If you think forum posters are what justify words in a dictionary, then this is where the problems arise.
