Denver at San Diego (-4) - It's hard in week 5 to say a game is an almost "must-win", especially after the debacle between the two teams late last season. San Diego cannot afford to lose another game on Denver, and especially not at home. The San Diego defense has given up a lot, and they just cut one of their safeties. Kyle Orton, Messiah, has been shredding defense and looked really really efficient. Reluctantly, I think that San Diego wins this game on a last second field goal. Chargers win, Denver +4.

That said, I agree with most picks but I've got KC over Washington, and Atlanta winning at home. Only really going with SD because I'm holding out hope that half of the Bronco's D will get injured again like last year. Otherwise I'd say Broncos shouldn't have a whole lot of trouble with it.

Kansas City at Washington (-6.5) - Well, shouldn't this be just a vomit inducing shitfest of a game. Seems like a lot of Washington games recently have been this way. Washington finally has a big game and beats the breaks off of the Chiefs. Washington to cover.

Y'know, I'm gonna disagree here. KC's got the more abysmal record, but their offense actually produces more points than the Deadskins. And the Skins are running with a patchwork offensive line and a QB who's been anemic, at best. There's not much life in the team and the injury report this week just shot them in the foot, again.

KC wins their first game of the year here as the Redskins save yet another team from a winless season, by 3.

Absolutely. The memories of them taking Dallas into OT makes me smile though.

Another reason I see KC actually pulling this one out. They're motivated and despite having the string of losses, they're not sitting there barely twitching on the field like a beached whale. KC's managed a touchdown every game and outscores the Skins, and dismal as they are, they've actually been playing someone who can win against better than 0-whatevers. Which means to me, they'll outplay Washington. Not by much, but they will.
