Saints over Giants... The Giants struggled to beat Dallas, and has otherwise walked all over four of the worst teams in the league. The Saints destroyed the Eagles and Jets, and it wasn't Kolb who allowed all of those 45 points. NYG is just in the same spot, to me, that most people had Denver: "Who have they beaten?" Not saying they're bad-- far from it-- just going with the team that has shown more decisive wins against winning teams.

Saints over Giants... The Giants struggled to beat Dallas, and has otherwise walked all over four of the worst teams in the league. I just want to point out - The Saints may have destroyed the Eagles and Jets - but only because they both were using fresh QBs who were starting their first game or are in their rookie year.

The Eagles lost due to horrible special teams - the saints were given ridiculously good field position due to penalty/fumbles. Remember it was only 17-13 at the half against the Eagles.

The Jets shut down the Saints offense for most of the game - Sanchez just happened to fumble in the endzone and throw a pick 6.


I expect the Giants to win the game, probably by 7.

Snyder's team reminds me of the Rangers(NHL) teams of the late 90's when they would just bring in whoever had a great year and assume that would translate over to a new team. How is Snyder not bankrupt yet lol?

Snyder is an absolute failure for making a team good- but he's great at marketing. Till this year, he's managed to shine the turd that is Zorn's team into gold, and the majority of the fans have only realized that gold doesn't taste like shit as of the last few months.

You only have to have been a Skins fan for long enough to realize the change. The soul has been sucked out of the team and devoured for dollars to feed Snyder's bank account, and he won't stop till it becomes absolute crap- at which point I'd bet he'll sell the ruined franchise off for one last big profit and go swim in a vault full of cash like Scrooge McDuck.

So I was rewatching Jets v Dolphins and something's been bugging me. Why is it that changing up our offense to get both Williams and Brown involved is called gimmicky, cheap, and not a real offense, but when defensive coordinators change up defenses, it's called exotic? Not everyone is calling it that. Mostly traditionalist that are butthurt it's been so effective.

I love it personally. They're using the talent they have to the maximum by straying away from tradition. That's how we ended up with the forward pass.

Football is always evolving, and you can either keep up with the times, or get left in the dust. Plus it's not going to work for every team obviously. It's talent based.

Well, the simple answer is that it takes away play action and lets the defense know that you'll be rushing...unless...

Nah, the wildcat eliminated the QB, who would be doing nothing. That's what makes it 10 on 11. With the wildcat, the person taking the snap isn't the "middle-man", and you can throw in an extra TE or something.

I agree that there was definitely a ton going against the Eagles in that game, and yeah, Sanchez stunk it up. I disagree that the Jets shut the Saints down; the Saints may not have scored a ton on offense, but watching the game... it didn't look like they were trying to once they had a lead. The game looked off, not like the Jets were dominating, but that the Saints were grinding-- which was probably the best strategy for the game.

The Eagle's game was, though, just a case of one team beating the hell out of another team. The Saints were forcing the Eagles to take FGs; the Eagles were allowing TDs, and field position this, field position that... it's important, no doubt, the Eagles just flat out got beat up in the red zone. Field position matters a hell of a lot more in defensive struggles than it really does in shoot-outs.... in shoot-outs like that game, you *have* to stop the other team from a high red zone production, and that's where the Eagle's failed miserably.


The Giants struggled against a Dallas team that has played pretty poorly all season, and that has to concern Giants proponents. Eli is gimpy, the Saints have had two weeks to prepare. The Giants get a *ton* of publicity and huge praise for huge stats, but those stats have come against really, really bad teams. The Giants do play well on the road, and they *are* a good team, but the Saints are a damned fine team, too, and their defense has played with a purpose. Gregg Williams is a very good DC (even if he's a terrible head coach), and has the team playing well.

tl;dr: The Saints have beat teams with passing, special teams, defense, and offense, and they've done it against *good* teams (and two crappy ones). The Giants floundered against their only winning team, and were as lucky in that win as Denver was against the Bengals (and they embarrassed four of the 7 worst teams [imo] in the league).

I don't doubt QBs can get involved, I'm just saying unless you do a full out substitution he likely isn't going to be a major part in the play more often than not.
