Well, the simple answer is that it takes away play action and lets the defense know that you'll be rushing...unless...

Wait, how does the wildcat take away the play action? The Dolphins always have a someone running and end around after the ball is hiked.

There are more things the defense has to worry about when facing the Dolphins wildcat: Pass, QB run, or a misdirection hand off / reverse.

Whoa whoa whoa. Eli > Peyton? Your homer is showing. Eli has always had a better supporting cast. It's easier to be a great QB when you have an exceptional defense and amazing ground game. Smith and Manningham have really stepped up to the plate for him this year too.

Don't get me wrong, I think Eli is definitely one of the best overall QBs in the league, but he's still not on par with his broham.
