should i sell my wah pedal

dude, the break point from where it goes from the wah sound to the woah sound, before it gets bassy and before it gets trebley is so fucking perfect. really good if youre going for a composition with a lost feeling to it

I am left handed and I play a right handed guitar, that is no excuse. If anything it makes it easier having your dominant hand doing the fret work.

while I own a right handed, I have tried both from friends, trying on the left-handed was way easier. I find it funny cause in my piano background it makes more sense anyways. The left hand controls the base, while the right is the melody. This makes sense for me for the guitar then to have the left do the rhythm and the right do the finger work.

You may not find it an excuse, but I'm not that talented enough lol

lefties are harder to find and usually more expensive. honestly, if you know music already, it wont be too bad to pick up, but you have to realize that because you waited so long to do it youll be kind of handicapped in learning, but if you put enough practice into learning ANYTHING you'll get good.


that being said, Agile Septor 627 Pro EB Black Flame at RondoMusic.com is my next guitar, hopefully within the next 2 weeks assuming they dont sell the 2 of them left in stock. i might hold back on buying because some really sweet stuff surfaced the last few days and has made me kind of giddy. still, its a $550 neck through arch top with a string through body. agile guitars are amazing for the money, i have a 3100 and it's honestly up to par with a $1,000-1,500 gibson LP, meaning a gibson headstock is basically $1100.

i can afford the guitar right now if i get a little bit reckless with my budget, but im trying to stay reserved, knowing that i will need to find a case that'll fit a 27" scale neck

Humidity changes really really reallllllly affect the string tension, and enough of them can distort the wood around the tuners, bridge, andddd the neck (which is really bad). Just by playing and keeping guitars in tune (or buying a house with a climate controlled room), all of that fancy stuff can be avoided. Use it or lose it <3

ooo ty zal, don't worry about the current one though, I destrung it when I got it, I remember that from friends. XD It's a cheapy guitar though (first act), it came with my VW cause they were doing that "VWs rock" campaign. I kinda even debate on playing it cause I am tempted to try and sell it someday.

uh, if you took the strings off and left it off for a while its definitely fucked. the necks are designed to be under pressure constantly, so if they werent for a long period of time theyre prolly pretty messed up and require a truss adjustment.


for me, i learned on an electric, and id probably recommend that. some people say to start on acoustic because its a little harder to hold down notes & slide so you develop finger strength faster, but honestly, electric guitars are easier to hold, carry, modify, and play. the downside is you need an amp to do all the fun sound stuff but you can find one for starters at 50 bucks np.

just make sure you get into a lefty for comforts sake. the best way to practice, for me, is to do a few timed finger exercises at varying speeds (whole, half & quarter notes at 60, 100, 120, 160, 200, 225 BPM, some 8th/16th notes between 60-100, and 32nd notes at like 10-20 because fuck 32nd notes and beyond, shit is rediculous), then do a few rhythm progressions, read up on some theory stuff and chip away at learning different songs.

Honestly, if you know the 12 note scale, understand whole/half steps, chord construction and chords relative to scales/keys, practicing musically should be easy. learning by tab is really difficult sometimes because tabs dont tell you which fingers to use or how to time them, but learning songs from the bands you like is the best way to connect yourself to the guitar and what you want to play.

the internet is kind of the answer and the problem with guitars. you can buy them online, but you cant play them beforehand. it gives you access to EVERYTHING, but assumes that you know what youre getting.

that being said, the internet has been good to me so far. Thinking of changing it up and getting an Ibanez ART320 cause they look motherfuckin sexy as a bitch
