Lakshmi will never lose the Astral Candy so long as Rusban (our servers resident Besieged activist mule) shouts 1.5hrs before the siege that it's going to happen and that people should go to Al Zahbi lol. His seacom usually always has whenever the siege is going to happen as well.

Let's not even get into the fact that he stalks the hell outta the dungeons to make the sure the mirrors aren't broken and gives people an earful if they do >.>

Holy crap. That's the best FFXI story I've heard in a while. Someone is actually doing Besieged as SE intended.

1500-3000+ population is low ? your best ingame friends have quit recently ? How long have you guys been playing ?

My best ingame friends quit 4-5 years ago and I have been in multiple hnmls that broke. Nothing new, move on, meet new people and join new shells.

The difference is when you in-game friends make decision to move servers because of their LS decided that this server is too dead and economy is unstable. When server is open, there's constant flow of items and players in and out. Replenishing ranks and keeping up supply of item is crucial to keeping endgame and regular activities going.

Has anyone discovered a method whereby SE will act promptly besides something horrible that happened with the first major PW attempt?

Not everyone has chosen this route and have remained on Bahamut simply because of the time invested in linkshell they're in or have many friends still playing on Bahamut.

In either case, the economy, the amount of activity and overall population is coming to a grinding halt. I for one, don't want to quit yet, but nor do I want my gaming experience be retarded by SE's incompetency to provide proper balance to server's population and stability of game play.

Considering that Odin and Bahamut (the two servers I know that are still closed) predicament, what is the best course of action to make SE aware of the situation or at least get them to pay attention to overall spread of players across all servers. I realize dead game is dead game, but still, there's plenty can be done and many still want to continue playing for whatever reason and for that reason I think SE should take interested in "closed" servers and servers in general.

So I ask BG populace: What is the best way to get SE's attention? What course of action would you suggest SE should take to deal with this issue? What servers are experiencing similar issues with population/playability?

    Thanks
I'm confused by your post. I do empathise and support something to improve it. Don't get me wrong.

But you are now on a server which is too full, although it's probably fairly dead I'm imagining when you want to play.

What exactly do you want SE to do?

Do you want them to add more people so there might be enough people when you are on? Doesn't that ultimately exacerbate the problem for at least most of the people on the server yet help only the people in your time slot?

Do you want them to remove people who are in the time slot you don't play in, then add more people overall to 'balance' the time slots? Would you really think that'd have a favorable impact on the server?

I'm not exactly sure how SE was 'incompetent' for letting people move to and from servers as they pleased? Nor am I sure how a server's economy with twice the population of other servers has 'ground to a halt'.

Despite not fully accepting all of your sentiments, I agree there are practical steps you can take. I suggest you develop some ideas that SE could in fact implement to help the economy of full versus half full servers along the lines of showing them how it has hurt the economy and how to fix it.

As far as the rest, I think SE has done a lot to anticipate smaller servers and to help people function on them. They've made it far easier to create parties, to earn xp in solo form and to aquire top-notch goods with smaller groups. There is no question that salvage, FoV, MMM, campaign, lower dynamis fees, level-synching, more xp for DC and EP mobs, sub jobs like DNC, XP rings, SCNM, Nyzul, etc. were designed with the intent of allowing people to function on smaller servers.

Worst case scenario is 32 servers become like...26. Stop crying.

Lowest population I've seen lately. Though I'm convinced if the total population on Siren was 8 people Altep would still remain dug up 24/7 :/

The decline has been happening for the past year, if not 1.5 years. The causes is due to alot of thing, economy, WoW, SE's lack of patches that help the general population etc etc. Not sure why people are complaining, until SE decides to merge servers all is "ok" in my books.

Odin is not "dead", maybe by Odin's standards as 100+ people in DA no more, but compared to other servers it's still a lag fest.

From what it seems in my perspective, the server I am on has always been low population and when I first started the game 2 years ago I wondered why and if all servers were like that. It changed over time and had fluctuations.

I guess Shiva is just an obscure server and we rarely show up on maintenance issues. I have never actually taken a real number count, however.

Still, even entirely basing it on the number of threads I see with Shiva in them any place in community forums, one would think low population so OP, I don't know if you should be alarmed about your server considering how normal it is for this one.

If you want SE Community Rep attention, get a poll together perhaps and see what the head count is first. Find out how many people are on your server are sharing the same pov as you before making it an official issue.

On the other hand, I notice Diabolos, Bahamut and Ramos keep having repeated server maintenance in Everbloom Hallow these past few months. If you check the last 10 maintenances you can see this. It is as if every time I see server maintenance, it is in EH and one of those three servers, not sure if it is related. Recently Unicorn and Cerberus have joined in the EH maintenance issues as well.

I wasn't referring to him hating on anything, I was referring to the usual "I hate this game but I have 3 accounts and 2 relics and play every day" crowd.

Vagus, Aery rarely pulls over 30 people these days. If you lag during that, you got issues. Hell today with 3 LS camping, there was 31 ppl total. I've seen Faf pop with as low as 9 ppl in the zone recently. BBQ doesn't pull the #s it used too. We stopped for obvious reasons. TK isn't large. And WT well you know who would rather sit on Korroloka and Astral burn.

You should notice as much as anyone the decline in people playing. BBQ has always been far and away the largest shell. You guys pulled a 6 hour Tiamat last week cause you didn't have the right #s to bring it down. Same goes for having to low man other HNM in a way you didn't need too. Hell even Donnie is MIA lol. Sure there's times when you guys have #s and most of the time anymore, you don't.

Odin is fading fast. If you want to admit it or not, that's up to you. The decline wasn't bad until they shut down the server. We still hit 5000-5500 people online up until that point. Even after for a while it didn't seem like anyone was going to move. I can't count the number of times I dc just zoning into Whitegate back then.

A server that could constantly hit 2500-3500 people online during slow times and 9 months later having 2/3 of that many ppl logging in now. Yea it's going...going...almost gone.

It's honestly a shame this is what's left of the server. I always enjoyed it, always enjoyed how big it was. It's just felt so empty recently, makes me sad.

Doing a /sea reveals pretty much the same amount of people online.
I'm not noticing any decline on my server.

And if bahamut and odin were as desolate as you guys are making them out to be they'd be opened again. Likely just not people logging in as often but still have the characters. Holidays should see some resurgence I'd think.

I sometimes feel like Ragnarok is slipping, lots of people that I started up on with the server made it about 5 months before quitting, and whenever I do /sea all it varries from as low was 900 to as high as 2000, and I sometimes only think the high times is when people come on for HNMs I could see them merging a couple servers together to try and keep the population highish sorta soon

Sucks I wish I had started playing FFXI sooner, I'm not even 1 year into my game and from the moment I got my 2nd 75 job I started to notice it becoming harder and harder to find party members.
