    A serious question on bandwidth conservation too lame for Tech

    Normally I rip on the admin's balls but this time I seriously want to know the answer. This isn't a rhetorical question.

    What, in terms of site bandwidth, from BG's perspective, is the difference

    between:
    http://i34.tinypic.com/1znszdj.jpg

    and

    http://i34.tinypic.com/1znszdj.jpg

    when the picture is being inlined linked to another server? There shouldn't be any change between the two, right? The differences being on how the backend renders the object between an image tag and a href..

    In terms of bandwidth for BG, there is no difference, correct?

    there is a small difference! The hotlinked one actually expends more bandwidth believe it or not.
