OK, Galka is in a Bone/Beetle Harness, Elvaan is in Valor Body, Mithra is in RSE, the Taru male is in some sort of plate, but what about everyone else?

The Hume male's armor looks sort of like if a Mirke Wardecors and Nuevo Coselete had a baby, the Taru female looks like she has a dressed down BLM AF set that was made into a full robe, but the Hume female's full on robe isn't even close to what we have in game. (Not that the Taru female's full robe is.)

It looks like someone made a sketch for Rapture that the higher ups said "throw in a picture of that 'Favnear' fellow that everyone loves so much and slap it on a FFXI box before we forget that it exists." Or am I being too cynical again?

P.S. And to be super cynical, who else thinks this is the last time they are going to bother to update the game, thusly the Ultimate Collection title? (I had my Cynical Wheeties today.)

How much of a hassle is it to use collection serial keys with existing accounts? I remember hearing some problems ages ago but I've been pretty far out of the loop recently.

Previews for next week will most likely be BST on Monday, and SMN on Wednesday, ASA on Friday, or ASA on Wednesday and SMN on Friday. The second Friday before update Monday has been the pattern for the other two scenario reward announcements and pre-order.

I think the Taru's look more long-limbed like Lalafels and the background more similar to the main area shown in the XIV pics. I was also comparing their standing position to the way the game characters stand, the hume especially.
In general though, the game is similar to XI so I think we will see this a lot.

There is a Galka, Elvaan, Mithra, Humes and TaruTarus. There is a FFXI-style Wyvern, an FFXI Airship and Riverne in the background. How does this resemble FFXIV in any way?
I agree that there won't be any more collections after this one though.

I hear they're adding Riverne A01 and B01 too, and PLD Relic!

But on a serious note, The Robe the Hume is wearing is probably loosely based on Verm. Cloak, and the Taru's armor is probably vaguely based on Black Cloak / BLM AF. I'm sure they gave the Artist a little freedom in painting.

Overall i doubt it has anything to do with XIV, just a artcover that was giving small guidelines and a lot of freedom =)

Aren't all three mini-expansions $10/ea? I don't know, didn't buy them...might now if I can get 3 for $20 though...still doubt it but a posibility now.

Not really. Galka lost their tails, Mithra have Micheal Jackson noses, Lalafell look more like Teletubby than TaruTaru...at least they got Elvaan somewhat right and humans are just humans. Not much to screw up there.
