Oh. Well I'm sorry!
Like a boss.
Post his phone number & address on /b/ and watch the fireworks.
That's nothing. I once worked with a guy who stabbed people instead of talking to them. We lost 6 co-workers during each meeting.
Spoiler: show
Just go for it, man. Bitches love confidence.
On a more cereal note, is it me or more random people stumble upon BG due to the onslaught of "news" posts?
First thing I thought of when I saw "compulsive liar:"

Though if we're talking about SNL and liars, we can't forget Jon Lovitz's character.

Yeah, that's the ticket!
Oh yeah? Well there's TWO guys at MY work who constantly try to one up MEEE.
Two guys? Pffft, THIS NIGGA' STACKIN' ON FOUR ONE-UPPERS
People in society generally have a huge problem with coming right out and calling other people liars. They're always afraid of calling someone out and being proven wrong and looking like an asshole. Hell, even if you aren't wrong, it still causes a lot of tension and awkward moments.
So here's what you do: Think of a moderately realistic movie that you've seen. Wait for him to tell a story, and follow it up (to the same crowd) with a retelling of the plot of said movie, except put yourself in it.
Every time he tells another story, do another movie with each one less moderate than the last. For example, you might start with a chick-flick-ish romantic comedy or something, but by the end, you wanna be on Horror/Sci-Fi telling ghost stories or some Final Destination shit.
When someone finally calls you on it (either calls bullshit, or recognizes the movie you just told), then say something along the lines of "Yeah, that was a movie. Unlike [name of asshole liar], I can't come up with original material every day."
At this point, you wanna laugh it off like you were joking. If he gets pissed at you, then he's gonna look like an asshole for not being able to take a joke. Assuming you aren't the only one he one-ups and tells obvious lies to, then chances are good that this fact will come crashing down upon the other people present and from that point on, they won't believe a single word the guys says. It will likely even become an inside joke that will piss the guy off to the point of him quitting, or at least keeping his fucking mouth shut.
Such is the power of Satire. When you bring an ugly truth to surface disguised as a joke, it sticks with people.
Damn that's evil. And genius.
Remind me of that episode of It's always sunny in philadelphia.
"Frank, you're confusing your life story with Rambo again"
If he lies to everyone then chances are they have guessed he's lying too. I used to work with a guy who lied all the time and everyone knew it. Good thing i found about the guy was you can always get a laugh out of whatever they come out with. Although guy i worked with didn't really big himself up just totally contradicted himself and totally forgot the shit he came out with.
This guy sounds like someone I know. At first my friends and I were going to call him out on it, but we decided that documenting everything he said would be much more entertaining.
He has claimed the following:
- Is a three-star sommelier (no such rank exists) that will travel the United States to buy wine for an unnamed wine company. The company leased car will most likely be a Lamborghini.
- Owns several night clubs and art galleries across North America as well as internationally, in London.
- His father is a Marine.
- His father is a Navy Admiral.
- His father is a Navy SEAL.
- Has three college degrees from MICA, including one in Architecture (which is a degree/major that they do not offer).
- Owner and founder of The Cork (restaurant in Dallas)
- His neighbor in Dallas started PF Chang's, and gave him a 'Green Card' which would allow him and all of his guests to eat for free. Upon request to then go to a PF Chang's so we could all eat for free, he said he had lost the card.
- His great grandfather is on the 1,000 Won bill (South Korean currency). For those wondering, this exchanges for roughly $0.79 as of July 2009. Upon further investigation, the man on the bill, is Yi Hwang (1501-1570)…therefore his grandfather and father have spanned 439 years.
- Decided to forgo the Maryland Contractor's Licensing Exam in order to take the 'Master Contractor Exam'. The regular exam is, according to him, only 50 questions, and it is open-book. The Master Contractor Exam is not open book and is 4,000 questions. Upon passing this exam, you are able to build whatever you want, wherever you want, because the state of Maryland 'knows you know what you're doing'.
The actual list, is longer.
