Coming from a background of playing all mage-type jobs in FFXI, I have to say the change to melee/dps is a bit refreshing. Originally I was gonna play a Sorc & Chanter but we already had plenty of both in the group. But I'm really loving the job so far, especially now that I'm over the lv25 hump and have access to a bunch more stun moves.

I wanted to get an idea how other sins are setting up their skills. I'm pretty sure I've got a good flow going but I've got a ways to go still and new stuff will come along to play with. When I get a sec I'll post a SS of my current setup.

I've gotta repost when I get home, did some changing up with the addition of Assassination. So you guys don't even bother putting the 2nd, 3rd of the combos on the bar since they fire automatically? I should do even more switching up then, I initially left them on to gauge how often they triggered if not 100%. Also since I'm not a wowhead, I'm still getting used to having the bar in general, I keep fighting the urge to hit Alt+1 to get hate of of my mages (jump or voke or whatever depending on ffxi job). Need to get that ability that erases hate on my bar for my clerics and chanters.

SPEAKING OF CHANTERS, I was in FT fighting the Vile bitch, and we got in a bit of a spot. Our chanter popped some ability, and took our tank almost a solid minute to get hate from her... wtf did she use?

I have no idea what ability this chanter could have used to get that much hate. I don't have any abilities so far that have turned the mob on me in a group. The only one I'm thinking of is maybe the 2k DP move, which I never touch.. Maybe it has some ungodly amount of enmity with it lol All it does is give +100 attack, when I'd rather give the entire party +20% attack speed from my 3k dp move.

Pffft, no idea. Maybe it was the +100 buff. But my temp was half laughing, and half raging about it.

I know I tear hate off a tank usually if a chanter pops the 20% speed and I have flurry on....goddamn machinegun knives.

Which stigmas have you been using so far? I recently picked up Sigil Strike 2 and Flurry, but I'm kinda torn between Aethertwisting or Ambush for my third slot.

I'm honestly not expecting to get Apply Deadly Poison anytime soon..

At 31, I use Ambush II, sigil strike (whichever number it is) and uh... I think it's pain rune.

Ambush is great, Aethertwisting... not so much, unless it doesn't share CD with Focused Evasion?
And I can't see any use for Apply Deadly Poison. You'd never use it for PvP, you'll get maybe two procs before you have to reapply, and in PvE we have enough ways to keep the mob from damaging us. Unless it stuns for like 10s, I fail to see its use.

Using Sigil Strike, Flurry and Ambush personally.

AT doesnt share a CD with FE. Sigil strike is shit though, id def replace that, get rune knife if you're the lvl, its amazing.

Aethertwisting is really good, it resists a surprising amount of things such as Ranger traps, Sleep Arrow, Assassin stuns, Ankle Snare, and a lot of boss AoE so you can save FE for physical attacks. I'm going to cry when it gets changed to a 1 minute cooldown in 1.6.

I'm just getting a Scout up to Ascension right now and planning to go Assassin. What are people's thoughts on weapon setup? I've read some stuff about MH dagger and OH sword working well, but about an equal number of people say dual daggers. Any opinions?
