Wow, your train of thought is just incredible...
Did you guys bothered to read the article here? A woman alleges that she was gang raped, yet she is being denied due process because of a contract that said disputes will be settled out of court. Additionally, the out of court dispute would be settled by someone chosen by the company.
Said contract did not say, "Should you get raped while working for us, we reserve the right to choose a third party, to our advantage, to administer a decision, also to our advantage, as we see fit." However, this is exactly what's happening in this case.
Step into reality for just a few minutes here. Someone gets raped, put yourself in that position, yet at the same time you aren't allowed a trial just like every single American. On top of that, the people who raped you get to basically choose a jury of their liking to pass judgment. Now the icing of the cake: withstanding their decision, you have no way of appealing it.
Appalling doesn't begin to describe the implications of what's going on her.
she was asking for it.
Do you want to know why we have to work so hard to protect the victims of sexual assault in this country?
Because in a matter of 15 posts, the woman who is an alleged victim of rape has already been labeled as dumb, and a bitch.
You're a despicable fucking person.
Why is it so hard to read. It's already been said 3 times now that she didn't sign away her right to press criminal charges, unless she signed something that says "I wave my right to press criminal charges under X of the constitution." The only thing she prevented herself from doing was suing in civil court.
Typing in complete, comprehensible sentences is important if you're trying to sound smart.

O my bad then, looked for a few articals, for some reason only ones that came up were ones that anncounce they were going to.
was just 1st one i found that actualy cited some details.
as for the authors opinion, i dont got anything on that.
Some of the responses in this thread is fucking pathetic. Especially considering is generally accepted, Republican or Democrat, government contracts were grossly mishandled and abused during these wars.
Criminal charges weren't even allowed for contractors in foreign countries until a few years ago when a bill was spearheaded by *gasp* one of the republican senators to turn this down. This bill is only for civil suits, and are usually in contracts for hazardous jobs because of the nature of the employment and employees are usually paid more for those jobs. The bill was too broad and would allow for companies to be sued for day to day events, I'm sure the senators that voted against the bill just wanted it to be written to be less vague and only include atrocious acts that happened in the case that was used to appeal to the emotions.
Criminal charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.
I dont know full details myself.
But there could be a case if say the company didnt do anything or acknowledge it happened. Or didnt punish the people that did the crime, or isnt taking steps to prevent further occurances.
but if really is no evidence then extra lawlz
And innocent bystanders.
And private contractors in their own bases.
And enlisted men.
But hey who cares if some slutty chick that was just asking for it gets gang raped once in a while? Omelette, eggs, etc.
The fact that it probably was really too short is irrelevant, although your comment did give me a nice chuckle.
If there was evidence, those people would be sitting in a prison cell. There is no need for evidence to show thatNo, you arbitarily threw that out there with no evidence.
Contrary to liberal thought, corporations don't punish people. And why is it suddenly the corporations job to make sure workers don't allegedly do bad things?Or didnt punish the people that did the crime, or isnt taking steps to prevent further occurances.
And terrorists. And an evil dictator. And innocent bystanders.
And private contractors in their own bases.
And enlisted men.
It's like screaming "Bush lied, kids died!" as a persuasive argument.
I don't know if she wanted it. I do know that she is now the property of the left for approximately the next twelve hours before she is thrown out of a moving vehicle on the Democrats way to pick up the next phony victim that they'll use to accuse Republicans of being evil at heart.
There was a bit more to it than just gang rape, she was forced to stay in a trailer under armed guard with no food or water, allegedly. With that said I don't think one extreme(+++) case should be used to alter policy. By not giving contracts to companies with an arbitration clause in their contracts you'll have less companies looking to pursue contracts because they'll be open to frivolous lawsuits for job conditions that people know they are getting into and are already being compensated for through hazard pay. Criminal charges have been allowed to be enforced for overseas contractors why must we allow more civil suits, personally I don't think this country needs more lawsuits to clog up court rooms.
