Could that change be in the...writers perhaps?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

There's an interesting analogy I heard about this. It's pretty long, but I was able to conceive it into a contemporary meaning.

As a child, if you do something wrong (especially if it is potentially harmful), your parent(s) will punish you for it. As a child, you may consider this hate, but in the parent's perspective, it's love. If you love someone, you will protect them from what causes harm. Sometimes the only way to keep your loved ones from repeating mistakes is to punish them.

Also, the Old Testament isn't all about wrath.

right, it's also about genocide, infanticide, slavery, incest, manipulation and drunken incest, torture, rape is ok as long as you buy the victim for 50 shekels, homophobia, talking snakes and giants who live for 900 years.

You didn't really fix anything from my quote. You just added exactly what I said and elaborated.

I'm tempted to bite on the last bit, but you clearly aren't going to listen to anything anyway.

It's like a baby thinking if they can't see daddy, daddy can't see him.

in other words, if you believe God exists and that he can have an angry temper, then yes even if you don't like the way he does certain things you're going to still follow him so you don't get punished.
I worded myself poorly. I'm not denying the existance and pretending I can't be touched if I don't 'believe'. But for the sake of the point, say it is true that god is a sadistic prick who is merely toying with all of us, and if we don't follow his bizarre rules, we all end up in hell. That is still not enough to make me play along, if you see my point. If that means I'll roast on a spit for eternity when the time comes; sucks to be me.

Edit: I don't see how god can be called be omnipotent if he's having temper problems. That's a pretty big flaw from what I can see. Or, if he truly is good willed; another flaw would be that he didn't forsee all the suffering that would come to pass. Why did he let it all happen? If you submit to such an entity, you're basically worshipping a flawed god. Also, if he has one obvious flaw, then it is likely that there are more.

More reasons to why I wouldn't blindly worship a god that can't prove itself.

I'd give it a try, but what's the point?

You won't worry about anything anymore if you are nihilistic. Since existence is pointless you can just live your life.

    Missed the joke bro.

The "Openmindedness" quotation was ironically eye-opening. Holy shit these people are full of it.

That child born into AIDS is more important then not being born at all! He could be the next Einstein, y'know!
