    I'd have grabbed the HTC Lancaster (AT&T's first Android phone until they backed out the last minute before release date) just because of Android and if I were on Verizon I would grab this phone too. So tired of everyone in my family waving around their iPhones like they're the greatest invention since the wheel.

    I'll be listening to my custom ringtones and mail-tones, so fuck you iTunes.

    ps: i dont care about pictures with my phone (so 5MP and flash mean nothing) and id actually rather not have interchangeable batteries because you KNOW you're going to drop it sometime and that battery is going to pop off and have a chance at being damaged forcing you to buy a new one>.>;

    That argument about interchangeable batteries is horse shit lol. I'd rather buy a new battery when it goes bad than having to buy a whole new phone, either way the fact its removable makes it just more easily serviceable. Not to mention its made with a metal casing so I'd imagine it's going to be a bit harder to break than normal.

    If you jailbreak your phone you get slingplayer with 3g access... it actually plays pretty nicely with AT&T's network lol

    I'm thinking the convenience there would be to have a spare battery to effectively double it's battery life when away from a charger.

    I've dropped my blackberry curve (I now have a tour but dropping is not the reason I switched) it has a removable battery. Guess how many times it broke/batter popped out because it was removable... NONE. The drops include: hard and soft surfaces as well as being sat on.

    Your argument about batteries popping it is a load of shit! Wipe that Steve Job spunk off your lips then come back.

    Also, this! Say you end up staying over somewhere and don't plan it. I can carry an extra battery in my pocket once your iPhone is dead you are screwed... Me oh look a new battery .

    I will be getting this phone for a while (Ten days to try it before I decide to keep it or send it back) can't wait to see how it works. I've heard so many good things about it and it looks like an awesome phone. I love the slide out qwerty keyboard (Had a touch pro 2 for a day but couldn't stand winmo). Lets all hope for the best.

    PS: Verizons $40/mo unlimited data plan is fail but once again its all we have up here
    Uh...all these phones coming out will have the same OS as the Hero. It's not the phones themselves people are excited about, it's the fact that they'll all be running Android 2.0.

    I thought the phone (moto droid) was ugly as hell, but the hero is such a sweet slick design. As far as blackberry batteries falling out, the battery would fall out of my 8820 if I dropped the damn thing on a pillow. So lame.

    Well, not all Verizon phones. But a "family" of Android capable phones will be coming out in the next few weeks/months made by different phone companies.

    How much OS memory does the phone have? Is it pretty future proof (Like as android as more features it has enough memory to install them)?

    I know with my blackberry that it will go up to at least 5.0 and more than likely higher as other carriers release updates.

    Sorry, meant to say UI. The HERO has the HTC SENSE UI which sets it apart from the other Android phones from what I have read. Unfortunately up here in the back woods I wont see any of these for quite some time so I guess I shouldnt get my hopes up.

    Wow those are some pretty sexy stats. Looks like same form factor as the iphone, a little heavier but with a much better screen size / aspect ratio and a very impressive resolution. Just going off the physical specs, I can understand why their are being so boldly aggressive.
