I wondered what the hell was going on with my Shining Slash, at 23 the crit range I have seen on this move is massive.

Casual testing last night during spammed FT runs. No buffs at all, crits doing 700-1000. Devotion only, 850-1100. Killer's Eye only, 1100-1400. Both, 1400-2307 (heh).

Keep an eye out for Eye of Wrath at lvl 37, a stigma. guarantees your next attack is a crit (hi2u SA). Happens to gimp your crit by 300... this needs testing. sounds like a fucking BLAST when all this is stacked, but we need to knok exactly how long it gimps your crit for. The duration (10 secs), or for the entire cooldown (1 minute @.@). For you higher ups, get on this!

That's a big range.. it looks more like an exponential effect than a multiplier. I'm wondering if the accuracy boost on KE is playing into this as well.

I've read the skill has its listed damage range, but has a chance to do 3x damage, so your visible crit range would be from a crit on the lowend value to a crit on 3x the highend value. Need to find out how to make that damage boost activate lol.

First and foremost, this is done with the only information I have been able to find. If anyone has better information, please let me know. That being said, I'm going to use the following assumptions for stats:

    100 Attacks
    Base Crit - 5%
    Base Accuracy - 100 (.5% Crit)
    Crit Diminishing Returns - 40%
    Physical Crit to Crit % Ratio - 10:1 (10 Physical Crit = 1% Crit)
    Accuracy to Physical Crit Ratio - 20:1 (200 Accuracy = 1% Crit)
Manastones are the highest per level of drop
Base damage will be a rough estimate based off a rough average of all skill damage at each level.
    All decimals are rounded down.

I will use the most possible manastone sockets per tier. Potions, scrolls, powerstones, buffs, debuffs, movement, etc are not factored in. Parry, Block, Dodge, Miss, etc are not factored in. PvP damage reduction is not factored in, although I will do that shortly.

    For those who are lazy.

EDIT: After looking over the numbers it seems that +attack takes an early lead but levels out in the end when you hit 50 with more manastone sockets. When crit is more consistent around 30%+ it seems that it catches up quickly but what I also found interesting is upon a crit the attack value is doubled.

Now this is just auto attacks but I would be interested in seeing some testing when using abilities like stunning shot or the Templar ability that does "random damage" (the name escapes me) to see how attack is factored in and if there is a 3x crit multiplier to see if the +attack is also multiplied by 3 as well.

    Good data nonetheless.

I changed the values up above to what they were tested to be, I was .1 too low on the modified 2h crit modifier.

I don't play Aion, but just going to state this based on my experience of other MMOs. Since it seems that criticals don't give anything special (bleeds, ignore armor, etc), I'd suggest going for a healthy balance of criticals and attacks. Trying to hit anywhere from 25-30% critical and then stacking attack I'd imagine would give a healthy increase in overall damage. That or I'm not understanding Syntex's post. Just a thought.

What are ppl looking to do at 50 for food/scrolls/manastones? While the costly approach, I am considering shooting for around 310'ish crit (w/manastones) and then using Calydon Meat on regular stuff and stacking it w/ +90 crit scrolls on important fights to push me a little over the 440 crit soft cap). This will allow me to socket +atk stuff earlier.

So w/ Calydon Meat ill be sitting at about 360'ish crit for normal instance / pvp stuff, while stacking scrolls for important fights to give me about 450'ish crit.

Was also debating that, but that's rather pricey, how much is too pricey is the question.

Calydon Meat is easy to make, just ask somebody in BG (we have a lot of cooks). Can either farm calydon meat or buy it for like 150/200 kinah per. Then just gather Perer. Each Synth gives 2, so that's 1hr/1:30hr duration per synth.

Only expensive part of the scrolls is the npc bought egrasi paper, rest is easily farmable (depending on aether skill). But if you only use scrolls on important fights then it doesn't seem too bad, because sitting on about 360'ish crit for everything (w/o a chanter) is fine for trash / average boss fights imo

never buy the crap from AH, not worth it for that price.. but its reasonable if you have somebody make for u
