they're little microchips they inject into the flesh around their shoulders, they can be read with a little wand that all vets have, it's in case the cat gets lost, hurt or whatever and they don't know whose she is... they scan her, my name and address/phone number come up and she gets returned.

Well, I don't know, I see them every day so it's hard to judge. I've never had kittens before (i get old cats usually) so I asked her what to feed them, she said free feed dry food and give them 1 can of food to share per day (with some vitamin stuff in it that she told me to get.) I don't really know what needs to be done differently from an adult cat so I'm just learning all this now.
I'm feeding them this: Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken All Life Stages Cat Food at PETCO
and the canned food is this: Blue Buffalo Wilderness Canned Cat Food - Food Center - Cat - PetSmart
Apparently this food is all good and Su strikes me as chubby but Mei is still kinda on the slender bony side. I'm hoping the canned food helps with that.

blue buffalo is good food, same with nutro max cat and uh... there's one brand they just sell the dog for for in the store and you have to order the cat food online, but it's good too. i'd have to go look it up but i think it's second string to blue buffalo anyway so it doesn't matter.
