I never understood the big draw about getting flu shots, unless youre in the medical profession or something then that's completely different. I never got one before and I don't seem to be missing anything due to always hearing about shit like this.

Herd immunity is a good reason although it doesn't really affect an individual. Really though, side effects are generally mild, and you'd probably be worse off if you actually got the flu.

Don't forget about minor or temporary cases. There were speculations on certain side effects occurring in Hep B vaccines back when I worked in the health care industry. The vaccine was optional but you had to sign a big ass waiver before you could get the initial shot. Statistically they said there was a 1/100,000 chance that a horrific side affect would occur or you would actually catch the virus. They only tested 100,000 so agan, 85% of all statistics are usually wrong.

Yeah I know that is true. Generally people who have bad stuff happen to them weren't doing too great to begin with. I mean I don't not get shots because Im scared of that, but because I don't get sick often and I don't really have a need to. And if I get sick I'll be immune to it anyway or however that works.
