You didn't include merits or race, but going with it. Hume mnk/nin has 71dex.
268 from base skill, 44 from dex, looks like 79 on gear, puts you at 391 accuracy. Full merits will add 14 on top of that. Pizza will add another 40 (44 hq) on top of that.

So it really depends on food/merits/target. Birds you need 407 accuracy to cap, meaning you're short if no merits, you're right where you want to be with merits and meat...but acc on TP gear may change if you can use meat. If you're spamming sushi on birds because your TP gear has less acc, then you need to drop acc from your WS set.

Outside of birds, with a Pizza, you're capping on all non nin/thf mobs without merits. Merits will almost exactly cap you on nins.

Sorry if my response is vague, you definitely have room to drop accuracy on a lot of mobs, but keeping a high accuracy set isn't bad.

    ?

Basically asking if it's worth it to give up Haste+4% (blessed+1), for Haste+3%/Acc+7 (dragonpants)

Is 26% capped at 25.5% or 25.25% or something else?
If you are uncapped accuracy, the 7 acc will win over <1%. The 26% is capped at 25% still afaik, but it's just when your gear says 25%, you're actually at 24.x, so the last percentage pushes you to 25.

As to whether your accuracy is uncapped...what's your target? Merit level mobs require more than 381 acc, if you just solo EM-Ts, I'm really unsure, but you may be capped.

tbh you got too much accuracy I think. Personally I dont use more accuracy on ws gear than melee gear, because I always assume I cap hit rate, which is the case with the appropriate food.
I use three different gear set ups, one at ~370 acc, one at 390 and one ( that I almost never use) at 410, for both melee and ws.

MKD head allows you to get rid of life belt and snipers most of the time, replace by rajas, str rings and black belt ( no real attack options in those slots). do it at least during focus anyway.

For PLD w/o Homam, and quite possibly w/o the chance of getting Homam.

Augments on the new legs. HP 25 & Emnity +4 with 3% Haste, or 7ACC and 3% Haste?

Most mobs I tank I melee with the exception of Tiamat. Not sure wether the hitrate increase will beat out emnity generated from Cures/Flash with the additional 4 Emnity, not to mention the HP is always nice.

3% Haste and 7 accuracy for sure.

Just switch to Hydra > I.R. > Valor >Adaman/Af for cures and such :3

Hume will have 8/8, but sitting at 4/8 since I'm sitting at 63 at the moment. TP gear will look like this:

    Main: Destroyers
    Sub: -
    Ranged: -
    Ammo: Tiphia
    Head: Walahra Turban
    Neck: Peacock Charm
    Ear1: Hollow
    Ear2: Mermans
    Body: Shura
    Hands: N.Kote
    Ring1: Toreador
    Ring2: Toreador
    Back: Cuchulains
Waist: Brown/Black(if I can pick up my last two items)
    Legs: Byakko
    Feet: Fuma Sune-ate

If I did my math right that should put me at 390ish w/o food and full merits so I assume I'd be spamming sushi at birds. When you mentioned Sushi before were you referring to Crab/Sole/Sushi?

Ok, first post in the what's better thread! Just acquired a love torque and I had been using a Thunder Ring in order to reach 117 dex for Drakesbane on birds. What's better? Love Torque + Flame ring, or Flame Gorget + Thunder Ring? I have 8 Polearm Merits if it matters. This is my current setup: - FFXIAH.com I used to have a Cuch Mantle but sold it when they introduced the union changes and currently do not have 5mil gil to blow on that so waiting on La Vaule to come back around.

thunder ring + gorget easily, no way 5 str/7 att will beat it.

    0.1/4.0 = 2.5%

    5 str = 2~3 modifier = potentially 1-2% damage with your D+fstr+Mod approximately equal to 150.
10 att = about 2% with the assumption of 500 att, factor in level correction it should be slightly more but offset by the potential of more att with meat.

So I am not sure how you think gorget would be better. Remember, that 0.1 ftp on a 4 hit ws is very very small increase in damage. Too many ppl now a day disregard attack when against higher lvl mobs it is your most consistent stat. Perhaps if you have a Cor to boost your att to 600, which torque + flame should still win out.

4.0 > 4.1 = 2.5% increase and thunder/gorget has more acc and you're overvaluing attack this is a ws with 29% crit rate minimal since capped crit rate, so it will beat the str.

I knew I forgot something, thunder/gorget does give about 3-4 more acc which should be enough to beat torque/flame if you need the acc.

Critical hit rate does reduce the effectiveness of attack, but you can look at it another way as well. If you have high attack, critical hit won't up your damage too much. Either way tho, it doesn't reduce the effectiveness that much, at the most by the crit %, and that's overestimating it. Tho the acc difference is big enough that thunder/gorget should win out if you need the acc.

do not forget focus. also there is two types of birds at this camp. the level 81 require only 398 to cap while the level 82 require 407. @390 acc you'll be at 91% on lv 81, 87% on l v82, and caped during focus. so in the end you'll have an overall 92-93% accuracy, meat is perfectly fine. If you want to use sushi anyway, drop all/most of your accuracy gear.

Ear2 Should be Brutal instead of Mermans but that's beside the point. Anyway thanks for the info from both of you, I've only ever done BRD to merits except maybe twice since ToAU came out.

Last thing, how does /WAR fare against /NIN in merits? I've seen some people argue MNKs should be /WAR in merits but does it just depend on the quality of your healer? It's been awhile since I actually had a good MNK in a merit party, and even so they've never had the confidence to /WAR.

It depends on the quality of your party, not just the healer. The mobs need to die fast, as to do less damage to the party. If they're dying slow because
    A) DDs suck
    B) Healer Sucks
    C) Buffer sucks (not keeping shit up full time)

Then anyone w/o a proper defense (Mnk/war, /sams fulltiming hasso) is going to eventually take its toll and someone will get fucked.

Most parties I do are with all my good in game friends who know how to play well, so thanks I'll keep that in mind. I have -22%PDT now (24 after I get my rank back) so I assume that's good enough for when I pull hate. Anyway thanks for the tip.

    That's what I thought... esp. if it's 0.5% or 0.6%. Thanks!

Primarily: Birds, nyzul mobs, and sometimes limbus mobs. (usually 1 brd, giving March/Minuet, or 2xMarch)

I also do Ein mobs, but in that case there's a huge rotation, so I'm buffed ridiculously at that point (pretty sure at least once +ACC source).

Having difficulty confirming my expected accuracy on birds @374. Observed is ~84% (according to someone else's parser).

    Help!

No PDT, full damage, need to kill the birds as fast as possible. Less time they live, less time they have to deal damage to you.

Ah ok, I guess I just misunderstood you; sorry.

For Chariots do you keep some PDT on for shadow clearing TP moves or do you only swap it in when timers are down or at all?

I only ues PDT on mnk when I'm kiting (like solo'ing jailer of fortitude kite/chi) I do counter tanking for shadows down. I keep the acc up as counters are acc based. I have 1 macro for a PDT for shadows but i practically never use it.
