Refresh = 3.33hMP, so you need 4hMP more to beat out the refresh for long rests.
But due to the fact refresh tics more often, you need more hMP to keep up/beat it when resting for shorter periods.

Fast start = wearing refresh body for the first 17 seconds of resting then switching to hMP body.
Slow start = hMP body from the moment you start resting.
hMP values are based on the 5 visible slots.
After 30 seconds of resting Yigits is ahead of every other combination, but as you rest for longer the higher hMP items over take.
After the first /heal (slow) tic anything higher than 3 hMP will beat the single tic of refresh. Over the first tic anything over 6 hMP will beat the refresh. So depending how long you /heal for on average the answer lies in the middle somewhere. In your example of +5hMP, I'd say you've beaten Yigit with your mix-match set.
I personally have my macro set to switch out of V.Cloak 17 seconds into the first /heal tic. It's kind of nice, except for the times it gives an error because I have my equipment or inventory window open and am not allowed to switch gear.

I'm 2/3 on ares legs (need 25). Once I get them and a thuder ring, that'll put me at 116 dex. At that point, I should swap bushi for minuet earring?
Also for drgs, should I do a sep build that focuses more on str for mobs that there's pretty much no hope in getting a decent crit rate on?
Yes, minuet over bush for 117 or just get a Zahak's.
And yes, str and att set for higher lvl mobs.
I just put that shit together tbh. I NEVER use drg, as I get better results out of polearm sam on practically everything. I only come drg when pretty much am asked to come for it (since i lotted vfork my ejar likes to make me come drg sometimes) and in those cases, I eat pizza.
Need better gear for drg before i consider using it over my PA sam.

Yeah I get your problem, my DRG is gathering dust too, since WAR does everything better. Having 1 or 2 DRGs at some event with prolonged fights (mainly thinking sky gods) is never a bad thing though.

387 Acc assuming 0 Polearm Merits. If he was 8/8 it'd be 402 Acc and a fine build. With the addition of Ares legs, Thunder ring, and Minuet earring that'll bump him up to 395 Acc with Minuet and 0 Polearm merits, 410 with Minuet and 8 Polearm merits.

When in the damage calculation is PDT-% applied? Does it even matter? I wonder because I'm debating on how useful certain pieces of gear will be in extremely high defense situations. Mob in question is Charybdis.
I haven't done the exact math, but my guess is that with pld/blu and pescatora I could get ~800+ defense.
Potentially important factors
1. Shield skill 300+
2. RDM with capped phalanx II also using bio II
3. Simba buckler for more consistent damage
4. Ice trousers for pants (ice spikes likely more useful than any raw damage reduction).
In the given scenario how would the following pieces of gear rank?
1. Jelly Ring (-5% PDT)
2. Patronus Ring (-2% PDT)
3. Robust Ring (5 vit)
4. Unyielding Ring (3 vit 7 def)
