T-VT mobs prolly won't have that much higher dex will they? Considering Greater Colibri are higher level and only have 67 (granted type of mob plays a huge role).

    Tiphia
    Heca
    Sea
    Brutal
    --
    haub+1
    heca
    rajas
    --
    --
    --
    Haidate
    --

So that's +35 from heca hands/head, haidate, haub, rajas

Personally I would go with aurum since 6.5 acc, 3 dex, and 5 atk seem better than 4 str in almost any situation. Also the added acc lets you swap out potent for warwolf, so that's another 8 dex.

So before considering a 2nd earring, 2nd ring or back piece you already have +43 dex. As a taru bst/whm (guessing that combo) you have a base of 64 dex, and /nin would be 69. If you were to toss in delta and cuch you would basically cap out dex on a greater colibri, so chances are dDex should be high enough to consider.

generally scout's unless you have some attack buffs like chaos/mins/zerk

Brave Grip hands down, assuming koggelmander + shield's defense doesn't beat the +3.5% damage and 1 str; I just go with staff/grip personally though I know some people show sword/shield wins on some mobs like odin.

If one or more of these conditions are met, then staff/grip is usually a good idea, assuming that you can't melee for TP:

    1) You're getting Minne
    2) You're using Azure Lore
    3) You know from experience that you can expect high damage CBs versus the target.

if the dex from torque is the last you need for dDex then torque, otherwise gorget i believe.

Selenian Cap: 6 MND, +2% Fastcast, +3% Cures or 4 INT, +2 Magic Acc., and 2 MAB?

The disclaimer here is that I'm WHM, BRD, BLM, and presumably will eventually be RDM and SCH as well. The second disclaimer is that I'm really into soloing. Technically speaking I could use the Fastcast on any of the jobs, which is a plus for the curing option. Normally speaking +3% Cures and 6 MND is the more "wow" option comparably, but it's just hard to give a shit about larger cure numbers compared to higher damage output. Might be worth noting that I have the +5% cure pants already (movement speed won out over damage pants).

There's also Royal Redingote, but I'm pretty sure I'd rather try my luck at augmenting a Weskit than going for the +4 Magic Acc. over Fast Cast.

Might have to undo all of those if I ever level COR anyway.

Suppanomimi or Abyssal Earring (and redoing the Divine Might fight)?

I'm leaning 90% towards the latter, should I ever see a pickup shout, because it's really hard to give a shit about dual-wielding on mage jobs (and have no intent on leveling a melee job past 66, and if I do it will be two-handed or Monk, goddamn it). That said, if there's some substantial benefit to soloing melee style on RDM/NIN when kiting isn't an option, I'd be glad to hear it. I got it for WHM/NIN (long ago my only 75), and I rarely bother soloing on WHM anymore. RDM is the 10% holdout.

While I'm asking about earrings, keep the Magnetic Earring or replace it given the disclaimers above? It's hard to give a shit about Magnetic Earring (it's a resting earring and "whatever" earring for WHM), but bloodtanking and melee aren't in my repertoire, and I'm not sure if MND +2 and magic bursts are worth doing the climbs again either.

I know these aren't number-crunching questions and I could just make up my own goddamn mind, but perspective never hurt anyone.

All I need is 1DEX to be @ cap @ bird camp. Which is my Black Tathlum that I hopefully should be getting soon. Once I get Ares Legs, Ill toss my thunder ring and throw in my flame ring.

Edit: That 1DEX includes Love torque

well in the case of birds once you get tath and legs, i think wsing in gorget vs changing thunder to flame would be more dmg maybe someone with more math skill than me can attest to that.

    Brave Grip!

Edit: As for Drakesbane, keep the Thunder Ring and use the Gorget!

Yeah, my FFXI AH WS profile for Drakes is in my sig. I strictly only use DRG for merits and soloing for tags and campaign etc..

For both SAM( 58 ) and NIN( 53 ) so not talking 75 here...
Lightning Bow+1, Tiphia Sting, or Elvaan RSE Sachet?

Tiphia Sting for Samurai unless you seriously expect to need to pull, Olibanum Sachet for weaponskills.

I used a Bailathorn for Ninja, personally. 3k for 3 Accuracy with no penalties was a good trade-off.

Tiphia sting is a wise investment imo purely for it doubling as a hp down piece @ 75 for shinobi ring on nin :3

    Probably going to sound really dumb but.. ;;
Mahatma Slops(INT MND CHR+8 ) Or Those new enfeebling +2 pants? (My bet is on the mahatma? 8 int > 2 enfeeb? Could be entirely off)
For aspir / drain, does MAB have any effect? Or should I be focusing purely on INT for those, my thoughts are that MAB helps drain but not so much on aspir. I don't know >.<

For the Mahatma v New pants, talking about mainly for RDM soloing.

MAB doesn't affect drain. Double weakened (MAB set to 0) drain still does damage iirc. Don't know what new pants you're talking about and if there are any other stats on them, but 8 INT > 2 skill in all scenarios afaik.
