You said main job, there are plenty of players who spend more time on a practical job than their 'main' job. If you have a well geared 6 hit sam and your ls never needs you on anything but rdm or whm then there is a problem with the versitility of the ls.

I'm not BLU so I won't comment this job, but for monk and PUP :

For asuran fists & stringing plummel, acc wins if you are not capped, even if you get 1 fstr and 1 wsc (unlikely for asuran fist). Then again you should be eating pizza on MNK, so accuracy will cap easily on weapon skill ; on PUP even with sushi you don't cap (even with full usu at birds) so you should be using the acc option.


For TP phase rajas is a winner for all the jobs you mentionned (if you gain a fstr) as 5 store tp is typically saving 1 hit until 100%+ TP. For instance on MNK, it lets you go from 14 to 13 hits with full usu, which is 14/13=7.7% increase in weapon skill frequency ; with a 60% melee / 40% WS split that's a global increase of ~3%. With an fstr and a few attack/acc from dex, it easily beats 6 or 7 accuracy.

When I asked it seemed the agreed upon order was rajas + 7 acc ring being optimal, followed by dual 7s or L/K, then whatever.

First off you can simplify it to 2-3acc 3-4atk vs 5str/dex/stp, which makes the answer much simpler to find

Stringing Pummel is 32% str, so rajas gives 1.6 wsmod and 1.25 fstr, plus whatever the dex would give to crit chance.
Asuran fists it's 10% so .5 wsmod and 1.25 fstr, dex would only give acc.
Vorpal Blade and Expacion are both 30% str, so 1.5wsmod and 1.25fstr, plus dex bonus for vorpal.

Basically, an fstr will always be better than 4 attack and then some (iirc ~8atk:1fstr or similar depending on your atk). On weaponskills it's going to be giving 2-3 damage for pup/blu and then 1-2 for mnk. So that would leave you wondering whether 2-3 accuracy compared to whatever perks left from strength and then dex, which for vorpal/pummel the dex is definitely pushing farther ahead.

Additionally for blu, you have spells that you want to always hit and those you're looking to increase damage, ie big 3 favors rajas whereas you should macro in lava/kusha (or dual 7 acc rings) for head butt.

As far as pup goes, you have an absurd amount of accuracy gear now, which ws acc can break 80% before food. So while accuracy is definitely important it's not as sparse with gear like MKD 25 acc hat, surge subligar 12acc, L/K rings 12acc, virtuoso belt 12acc, and then mirkegeon/enkidu's/antares/etc.

On Ranger, which would be better to TP in in situations where accuracy would be capped(using E.bow): Maat's cap, or AF+1 beret?

I picked up a pair of 3 haste 7 accuracy Desultor tassets for my thief, but I was wondering when they would be worth TPing in over Usukane Hizayoroi for PUP. Obviously when I could get near capped accuracy I would lean to usu, but I was more confused for 75-90% hit rate range.

Before legs, I'm tping in 318.7 acc (248 h2h, 39 acc gear), 354atk and 17% haste (with legs). I'ld be around 77% (92% w/mad, capped with most hunters) hit rate with usu on birds using sushi or near 81 with desultor (over w/mad or hunters).

So would you ever opt for 7acc over 3dex 5str 10atk or is there no reason to use these on PUP?

Maat's cap is 3.5 damage 3.5 ratk 3.5 racc.
AF+1 is 5 ratk 2 racc and prolly 5% max proc.

The racc and ratk differences are minimal so it would basically be str vs proc rate.

Now remember it is a random proc on a non-auto attacking weapon, so you need to discount the proc rates where you don't immediately notice and therefore don't make full use of them. Just because it procs does not mean it will really do anything if you don't try to reload faster.

Pretty sure maat's would beat AF+1, though snapshot would beat both.

I also have two RNG related questions...

1.I feel like I know the answer to this, but I just wanted to check: Which belt, Buccaneer's or Scout's, is better for TP and WS. I feel like the TP answer is more obvious, but I could see it both ways for WS.

2. For hands are Seiryu's Kote or Skadi's Bazubahns (SP?) better for WS? Would it depend on the amount of Strength already stacked?

Actually, it's incredibly easy to cap accuracy in a WS setup on PUP (while using Sushi of course). Fuck accuracy in both slots and go Rajas/STR ring.
