Yinyang Robe vs Royal Redingote with Perp -2 & Pet Acc/ R. Acc +7. Overall, which is the better piece?
Rune > Fort > Perdu I would imagine.
YYR has refresh without taking up a head slot.Yinyang Robe vs Royal Redingote with Perp -2 & Pet Acc/ R. Acc +7. Overall, which is the better piece?
YYR has pet enmity
YYR has the most -BP for a body
ACP would have more perp cost, making it better to idle in with an avatar out (though no avatar YYR's refresh wins)
ACP acc would make it better to macro in after BPing but before BP takes effect (pretty sure this works, otherwise -5bp is more of an increase than the acc)
A very true and worthy condition to add admittedly![]()
So.. ASA legs.
I have NIN, cor, SMN, war, DRK (leveling PLD).
I have homam legs, Byakko haidate. I am often on DRK a bit, but no official end game atm... Any suggestions on legs? I'm humming and hawing on a few choices, but the haste 3/7 acc for drk (and pld I guess) feels a bit like a waste since I already have Homam (but I'm sure I could be convinced otherwise).
If you havent got W. Legs 8% Movement Speed and -4% Physical Damage Taken would be an option. +4 ENM and Cure Potency for PLD is also interesting.
I should have said: I do have w-legs.
Haste 3/7 Acc for COR, perhaps?
The uncertainty principle seems very apt lol.
I'm really at a loss about whether replacing Ochiudo's Kote with Myochin Kote +1 is going to be an upgrade for penta thrust.
I use polearm a lot when I'm playing sam, which is generally merits (obvious), nyzul, city dyna, non-boss limbus, most fodder mobs in ein.
My TP set puts me at 367 acc with hasso and no foodso i am using pizza +1, crab sushi on birds.
My WS set looks like this:
http://i49.tinypic.com/16lxtec.png
393 acc with hasso and before adding food and gorget (idk how to quantify gorget; 10 acc?).
I know it's a highly 'shit is situational' answer' but:
a) Am I correct that myochin +1 are less pure dmg than ochiudo's? If they beat ochi, do they beat bandomusha for dmg?
b) Looking at my current gear as a whole and considering the mobs I use polearm on: is the acc from myochin hands going to allow me to make some better raw dmg swaps elsewhere?
c) When I get some planned acc upgrades (cuchulain's mantle, virtuoso belt, acc +7 ring, tomoe/learning how to synergy my engetsuto) I assume attack kote will be the better choice yes?
Sort of rambling and highly shit is situational, ty for any help in advance.
I'm gonna just stick to one of the questions; I'll let more SAMs deal with the others.
STR7 DEX7 vs Attack20
STR7 Attack5.25 DEX7 vs Attack20
So STR7 DEX7 vs Attack14.75
Gains from WSC/fSTR:
Penta Thrust: STR_20 DEX_20
STR90 DEX100 => STR97 DEX107
STR90 DEX100 is WSC of 31.
STR97 DEX107 is WSC of 33.
Relative fSTR increase assuming not capped is +1.75 (could generalise for birds, but Polearm on SAM is useful in many places but birds so might as well keep this a general statement).
D on Engetsuto is 85, taking a prior fSTR of 10 and WSC of 31, the increase is
3.75/(85+10+31) = 2.98% increase in damage ignoring the Attack, so it is slightly higher but we can ignore the Attack on it for this comparison.
O Kote is Attack 14.75. Now, without factoring in level correction, let's calculate at what point 14.75 Attack yields less than 2.98% damage increase.
14.75/x = 0.02976...
x = 495.6
So 495 Attack and below, 14.75 Attack > STR7 DEX7. 496 Attack and above, 14.75 Attack < STR7 DEX7.
However, this does not include level correction.
Using the poor victimised pink birds, if you have 500 Attack for instance,
500/327 - 0.05*7 = 1.17cRatio
514.75/327 - 0.05*7 = 1.22cRatio
= 4.27% increase in cRatio and damage...ish
Greater Colibri are pretty squishy as far as targets go too; high defence/higher level both favour O Kotes.
So basically, O Kotes will outdamage Myochin Kote +1 in terms of raw damage as long as you're not fighting something EM or so.
Did you just do all this while assuming capped accuracy?
Tomoe/Pole/Tiphia
Hissho/Shadow/Minuet/Brutal
Haub+1/???/Rajas/Iota
Forager's/Warwolf/Usukane/Usukane
5+2+8+10+3+12+3+7 acc = +50
1+6+5+3+5+5 dex = +25
Hume has 68 base dex, 93 total, +69.
Base acc is 236, +69+50 = 355, *1.13 = 401. You're short accuracy. Granted, there are other places you can pick up some accuracy, but you can't compare this shit while ignoring other slots. Potent+OKote vs MKote+1+Warwolf. Past this, Warwolf is far easier to augment. Also, I included a Tomoe, so if you switch to Engetsuto, you're not going to cap with Potent even. You want to use a Cuch Mantle? Great, that's nearly 5mil, and Cuch will only win if you need that much accuracy still.
Furthermore, do you have some proof that cRatio is floored at 2 decimal places? Because you're taking 1.179 and turning it into 1.17, I'd say (1.224-1.179)/1.179=3.8%, so you're still overestimating by half a percent after level correction.
You really need more information, sorry.
Yeah, I used capped accuracy;
I interpreted that as saying "assuming accuracy is capped, would the Attack from the Okotes beat the WSC/fSTR benefits from Myochin+1"? That is how I interpret "raw damage" anyway; could be entirely subjective.a) Am I correct that myochin +1 are less pure dmg than ochiudo's?
As for the importance of the sets, I agree entirely. That's why I qualified my post with
in particular with reference toI'm gonna just stick to one of the questions; I'll let more SAMs deal with the others.since I'm only answering the raw damage one; obviously build as a whole is crucial in the overall picture.b) Looking at my current gear as a whole and considering the mobs I use polearm on: is the acc from myochin hands going to allow me to make some better raw dmg swaps elsewhere?
I don't have proof as such, but on ffxiwiki it statesFurthermore, do you have some proof that cRatio is floored at 2 decimal places?
which obviously could not be 100% accurate, but it's what I've always worked from.It seems that ratio, cRatio, and pDIF values are truncated to 3 digits.
For sch nuking in a non-resist set up(ex. puddings, limbus, etc):
Hume no int merits(70 base int i think?)
HQstaff/bug+1/ /phantom
???/pendent/diamond(+2MAB)/moldy
???/vicious/snow/snow(aug+1mab)
prism/obi/mahatma/yigit
basically for hat and body i use errant(10int) and AF+1 hat(5int)
planning to change errent for ebon coat(5int MAB+4) this should be an upgrade right or is errant+1 a better upgrade? and was wondering about ebon hat(+1int MAB+2) and how it would compare for the same set up, would it be better? or stick to af+1 hat? elaboration appreciated. also not taking into consideration of any evolith.
Stick with AF+1 Hat. As far as body, the Ebon Coat will outdo Errant/Mahatma on T3s and T4s. I personally use Yigit on those until I can manage an Ebon Coat myself.
Oops, wrong thread - moving to Random Questions. Apologies.
For a 68 taru drk doing cape terrigan bunnies/lizards, would it be better to aim for an evasive build with SH, emp pin, etc or to go a more defensive route with iron ram pieces?
Figured /dnc for sub, though the casting speed of /sch for drains seemed like it might actually be pretty decent for weaker mobs. 70+ it seemed like seigan might win regardless.
