What's Better?

I finished my prereqs for AN and I can't decide between the Magnetic Earring or Static Earring. My jobs are: Whm, Blm, Smn, Sch, and a Rdm that is soon to be 75.

Now before I had leveled Rdm, I was set on the Magnetic, but I'm wondering now if I should get the Static earring for a Mnd potency setup. I don't magic burst on Blm or Sch too often, so should I even consider it a factor?

Magnetic if you had to pick between those two only. You can buy MND+2 or get MND+3 Mamool Ja Earring.

Aside from that, the real decision is between Ethereal or Hollow IMO. Level a tank or melee, and you'd be inclined to agree. You want the more unique beneficial stats from AN earring. MND+2 is AHable, and there are better nuke earrings for BLMs, so Conserve MP on Magnetic looks more appealing. But having built a pretty decent Conserve MP set on my RDM and having owned Magnetic for a year, I can say that Magnetic Earring doesn't match up to the value in owning Ethereal or Hollow.


Question regarding MNK without Shura Togi / Usukane Haramaki / Enkidu Harness in foreseeable future:

Antares Harness or SH +1? For average meripo with Pizza, TP and probably Asuran piece. ACP body is used up already.

Working on my KJ build with berk/agg up. This is what i plan on using, wondering if i should stick with fort or p charm until i get a gorget for it.

Chiv chain would work. Look into kubira beads from einherjar too.

Edit: And yeah, I know the acc from Berk would allow me to do X elsewhere. Trust me I already looked everything over. For my Dex build this seems to be the best option bar Zahak's which I'm not paying 5.5m for.

IMO, Perdu is the best unless you are using Tred (or any 528 scythe) for a 5hit build.

And 5DMG, 5STR, 2% souleater (also available is Attack and additonal effects 6-16)

Post your full set. Even if I did believe you couldn't gain any stats elsewhere, your current str and attack change this.

For SAM with 450 delay G.katana 'true 5 hit' setup equates to having +46 sTP. Without hachiman pieces for me personally that would mean:
25 trait + 10 merits + 5 rajas + 1 brutal + 4 rose strap + 1 chiv.chain OR ecphoria

ecphoria vs toreador's/sniper+1 is 3 acc lost and chiv.chain vs p.charm is 5 acc lost and 3 STR gained. Between the two that's 3 STR vs 2 acc.... what wins?

If I WS in AF+1 legs or Enkidu subligar I could get up to 49/50 sTP for WS's which then means I ONLY need +45 sTP for a 5 hit and get to wear both p.charm and a +7 acc ring. Is this a better overall goal to go for or should I stick to the "true 5 hit"?

That's a 6hit build (5 TP hits and 1 WS) not a 5 hit. A 5hit with a 450 GKT requires 74 sTP.

Either way 2 acc would win.

Its the number of hit to go from 0 to 100 TP.

Which in your case is the previous WS and then 5 TP hits.

NB. both those set ups (Enkidu subligar or not) are 'True' 6hits, as you are not relying on additional hits in the WS (as SAM WS are only single hit).

I kept hearing the 'true' in reference to feather tickle breaking the non-true builds. That's why I used it, since starting from 0 due to tickle or missed WS with +45 wouldn't work. So anyway, WS'ing in 49? I'm trying to not to rely on both p.charm and chiv.chain. as well as changing gear sets based on missed/hit WS's. And assuming a 5-10% missed WS ratio is it worth sacrificing the accuracy during TP phase?

Actually you are right, having more sTP in your WS set than TP set does make it a non-true 6hit (never really thought of it that way, as its not common approach).

Merits + rajas + brutal + rose + ecp ring (TP) is the best SAM 6hit either way as you can drop the ecp ring for WS and still keep your 6hit.

#3 perdu = uncapped acc but with lack of scythe merits this gets bumped up higher if you can't hit capped acc etc.

#1 death+1 or close #2 moli scythe/ring combo = capped acc (can get pretty close to cap with 5/5 diabolic eye and pizza+1 etc etc etc not sure if you have any room for scythe merits)

Tred is somewhere between 2-4. much of it is preference as mentioned above 5 hitting is possible with it, but yea..

If acc is capped then you can use moli, but you shouldn't be TPing with the moli ring. You should be using Rajas/Blitz (if acc capped).

Then that turns the ring into a WS ring which has the 'effective' stats of [4 STR, 5 ACC and Enhance Souleater].

Which makes it a good SE-WS ring (if you have n.head), other than that (still assuming acc is capped) then you are better off with a real 5 STR ring.

For FM:

431 Acc with Agg up in this. My dex is 2 over the needed for birds, but I fight other things and typically this is enough dex for those as well. I could probably use Kubira Beads as well and still have plenty of acc for when agg is up, but using those and Osode both would cause the world to implode. Ah yeah, blitz ring is also something I mess with, Kubira/Berk+1 and blitz. After numerous parses with blitz I don't believe in its magical powers anymore. I always do better without.

Same str, 5 less dex, 1 more haste, 12 more atk. This still doesn't put me at the Dex I need to be at, I need an Ebody or some Dusk hands with dex+3 augments. Using an Osode for tp gain seems to do fine regardless of all the lols it has gotten. I assume that is because most people who have used it are nowhere near acc cap or dex cap. It did great in my parse last night, I'll keep with it and see how it does.
