In fact, I can't imagine a movie being anywhere near as good as the novel or even the manga.
Too much shit they'd have to cut out to make that work since it was hella long for a movie to run that.

The movie was pretty good. They cut out some of the "minor" charcters death sequences and events but the most important stuff happens basically like in the book. Although, the funny thing is how in every incarnation of Battle Royale, there is a different "version" of Sakamochi.
