I've been playing this for about a year now in the arcades. It is good, but a lot easier than previous versions. Juggling to a win is absolutely common even in above average play. Very easy to pick up and be good at.

The fat guy, forgot his name, is top tier as a mother fucker.

Online is unplayable, 10 strings will even win it for you 90% of the time

Playing Tekken games for the story is like playing playing a MUD for the graphics.

Offline play is fun, but online is horrible. It's just as bad as T5DR, possibly even worse. I'd rather play SCIV online...Tekken seems like a game that requires more precision, so it's really hard to play with this horrible lag. Even with a full green connection, it's barely playable. Once you're on the ground or against a wall, just let go of your stick. :\

Got in on some online play just now. The lag is fine and I like the way they setup ranked matches. 7th Kyu after 4 fights :D

This game is horrendous online. If you thought SF4 was bad (which it is) you are in for a big disappointment.

Oh well, it is training mode for the arcade I suppose.

Armor King wearing a TAPOUT shirt is pretty savvy marketing, if only it didnt have the T6 logo on it also.

Thank god i got this on rental from gamefly, online play is horrible no way to tell who you are playing until you start the match, so you can't choose between good or bad connections. Whats with the character select before you find a match thing does anyone find that annoying or odd? I'm on ps3 and out of 30 times i tried to find a match i connected to maybe 3 and i know its not my connection.

The juggling kinda sucks if you are winning then get caught in one.

Btw - If you want to win just pick Bryan

I don't know if Hilde is more OP in SC4 or Brian in T6 o.o

They went with the VF5 Online approach it seems.

The idea behind it was that when you went to a Tekken 5/6 or VF5 machine, you had a card with you (much like a credit card) that saved your data. Each card was that one character you picked so you were pretty much stuck with that character unless you bought another card. The plan was that you had your main character that you'd want to pick and that's who you would master. Of course, this is a pretty nifty idea in the arcades where you would be known as that "Jin player" or that "Akira player" or whatever. SF4 did the same thing as well.

    ... Though that kinda doesn't fly so well in console. >.>;

About Online: Is it unplayable because it's "Tekken" or is it because the lag is horrible? Because if you're getting juggled to death or getting wall comboed to death without any chance of getting out of it... that's because it's "Tekken" not because of the lag.

    Both.

The game in the arcade, as I said already, is just a huge juggle -> scoop -> juggle -> ground pound with no chance of the other person countering. Anyone decent at the game can pretty much take a round from 1 hit. Its not like there is a huge lifebar (ala MVC2) where a reset or long air string is dependent on extremely skillful follow-through and longevity; you can pretty much combo>juggle>GP someone to death with relative ease.

If you watch most high tourney play, matches are usually a fake fest until someone gets lucky and lands the first string. IE - There is a ton of back/forward/back/forward/crouch/stand/crouch/stand with no attacks thrown. Both players usually look for an opening for quite a long time. These reasons are why Tekken6 tourneys to date have such huge diversions in top 8 places. Someone will win a tourney one day, and not make top 16 the next weekend.

It is still a pretty fun game and looks nice, but the game mechanics + HORRENDOUS online code makes the game total fail on a console.

Tip: When all else fails, just stand straight up. You will have the highest chance to block an incoming string from knockdown.

Well, I always did despise Tekken (especially after TTT) for being a jugglefest... though I can't say I don't enjoy doing these combos. I'll probably end up picking it up regardless, disappointed that the online lag is ass though.

Actually, I think Bob came first and then Rufus.

Now's the time for me to add a 360 controller PCB to my Tekken 5 stick and replace the buttons with Sanwa. <.<; And maybe update the artwork.
