whats a good, relative cheap way to get goldsmithing form 50 to 60. Because like now gold ingots are gong for 300k+ a stack and every synth requires some form of gold or so :/

Gold Rings are the way to go - sell them to high level goldsmithers who need the rings for higher level synths. Just find one and sell to them. You'll lose some money, but it's the best solution. Alternatively, Platinum ingots if you willing to take the time to stockpile ingredients.

suck it up do gold hairpins / desynth them and then pray you can get enough mythril / plat ingots to get 60 on.

Well you can sell ingots until you cap on the recipes that make them, I also think you can do the geodes from Abys until 52? Then Hydro claws until you're tired of those, then do Platinum ingots. No matter what you do, stockpiling ingredients is the only way. I'm currently stuck at 77 because Bastok is in last place and I can't buy any targes :/

That'll work, and if you get enough Mythril it's not that bad. It's seriously taken me about a month to go from 20->77 just based on waiting to get items and not being assed to go farm anything.

Funny you say that. I decided to skill gold on my mule, figuring the only thing that would hold me up would be the amount of gil I want to throw at it. In reality, it's more the lack of materials because there is apparently a lot of other folks also skilling gold!

It's better after you get away from Platinum since it's used for subcraft as there is plenty of gold available usually. Once I stopped break synthing and did 77-80 this morning I spent near 2m for 3 levels :/

do any of you do what i guess would be called a hostile take over of a market when your crafting for profit? ive been dual box camping sea hog and had managed to stop all sells of southern pearls in a 13 day period on my server just wondering if other crafters try to lock everyone else out so only you can make X item?

It won't be as profitable as you think it is. By monopolizing Sea Hog 24/7, your server's output of Cursed Hauberks (and Cursed Hauberks -1) is higher than it would be if you left Southern Pearl supply up to random campers. Ultimately this will result in you producing many more Cursed Hauberks -1 than you can really hope to sell at a high price. You'll either tank your own market (because there are only so many E.body abjurations dropped every day) or end up NPCing Southern Pearls to keep the market high. If you want to monopolize Cursed Hauberks -1 and NPC Southern Pearls, that's fine, but you basically lose your mule to do it and it may not be worth it all things considered.

i do it in spurts atm , there's only one other person who camps sea hog *thats not a random camper its a jp with 100 smithing all subs*. ive been trying to line buyers up ahead of time before i camp / kill to have a decent profit margin , ive got 2 buyers set atm but since i cant force a HQ i end up having to camp 10-20 hogs. im also trying to make / sell as many as i can before the update hits since who knows how good it will be after. normally i put any extra pearls in my bazzar for way over price and wait for the other crafters to break down and buy them.

im avoiding the synergy smithing market like a plague since its filled with fools undercutting and killing each others profit and flooding the AH with HQ's *5 grim+1s 5faz mails+1 and 7 helm+1's on AH tanks the price*. its the same problem my gs friend ran into when they started earrings were 3-4mil easy on HQ. but since then 3-4 other GS have joined in the gil printing and crashed the price to 2mil for most HQ's and sometimes a loss for NQ's.

was just curious how other cratfers handled people flooding the AH.

I ended up doing gold just to make money as anything synergy is gold. Prior to that, I was making a lot of money on Shihei when it was 150k/stack. Didn't matter how much was on the AH, it was only 100WW selling. It's down to 75kish now, which isn't even really a profit if you're not HQ3 on the synth. Makes no sense to drop the price like that, but it happened. I ended up with 30x12 stacks I was waiting to sell at 100k+ whenever the supply got really low, then abandoned it altogether.

11 stacks a day sell on Odin, but lets be honest its more the fact that people dont like to spend time buying zinc ores from the AH then coppers from the guild to save a few hundred gil per synth.

The target difficulty (and fewell cap) for the crafting stalls is 99. Can you continue to receive skill ups from feeding once you've hit 99 even though each additional feed will not result in the elemental balance going up?

Yes, you'll still get skill ups from feeding it even though it's at 99/99.

For Cursed Breeches, would I need Leather support to T1, or is 100+3 and 60(+1 if needed) acceptable?

For Cursed Mufflers, is the goldsmithing sub low enough to T1 with 100+3+support?

Aaaand, I just need to get one of the expensive KI's to get a +1 MH (100+4)? Or do I need both to receive any benefit?
