Stupid question, since I can't read all of the thread:
Before attempting to skill up, should you remove the mega moglification from your mog house?

No, definitely leave it and do the highest level synth that you can if all your options are shitty. You seem to skill up based on your real level before any enhancement.
hi guys, just wondering what the best (cheapest , im sure none of this crap sells) path is for taking smithing from 100-110. thank you
Nope. Some crafts don't have torques.
Also cooking has the kat and fishing has crafted skill gear and +2 feet
Would check this thread:

what would happen to my main craft (still at 100 but expert unlocked) if i unlock artisan on a sub for the apron gear?
how can i revert it back to craftsman?
I remember doing something like this years ago but i forgot now..
Heres how I see it, someone can offer a different vantage point.
No ones going to get 110 in any craft untill SE pushes the crafting cap to 120, or adds new synths to let you get 110, so if you unlock artisan and somehow skill to 70.1, you're not going to be losing out. Presumably when SE bumps the cap to 120, they'll bump the subcraft to 80 as well. You stand to lose practically nothing.
It depends on the craft. While there are some that are insanely difficult or downright impossible right now to get to 110 there are a few that are relatively easy or at least were if you got on it when it came out to get to 110.
For example if the info on bg wiki is to be believed wood is pretty easy to get up to 108 at least then after that a little harder but doable.
Smithing also kinda easy to get high then it's a matter of farming and/or spending lots of gil
Clothe looks really easy.
Leather almost as easy as clothe
Alchemy. Very annoying and time consuming but doable. If you knew alot of people who had pops from building trial weapons and what not could make it faster
Cooking. Mostly really annoying. Most recipes require helming which is a bitch. Last one requires cerb meat... which it turns out there is alot larger supply than I had though lol. I can usually buy a stack or so a day even with other people camping the ah.
Gold and bone are pretty much not going to happen for now though due to the difficulty of getting ingredients. Then I'd say alchemy then smithing. The rest not so bad
Idk about other servers but most of the t3 VNM drops used for 110 level crafts on Odin are around 1m gil each now. For Alchemy you most certainly can spend all day farming Verthandi, otherwise you're looking at fronting 240-320m for squamas alone depending on whether you believe skill up rate is 25-33%. Sure you can sell some of that hexed gear off, but realistically a lot of it is going to rot on mules. Also interesting to note is squama's on Odin sell at a rate of about 1.2 per day, so looking at 9 or so months of buying daily with no competition lol.
I really wouldn't complain if squamas were needed for like 108-110, but 102-110 is terrible.
Only 700k here about same sell rate... but at least it is farmable which is what I meant by bad but still possible unlike gold/bone which aren't really farmable unless you lug your ls around to fight specific vwnms that drop nothing worth having besides that occasional synth mat. I don't get how some crafts lucked out so much... like clothe they put it on a vwnm sure but also on high lvl crawlers
where are you getting the fact that smithing is kind of easy to get high? While the mats are available to some degree, their prices is utter garbage. Adaman ingots jumped the shark and thokcha ingot is well, sometimes short on supply and a bit pricy for a skill up synth.
and the 110 synth is 1.7M craft per try.... i wouldnt call that easy considering how much you need to spend to get to 110. Actually wouldnt compare any of the crafts to each other, each of them is a bitch to get up to 110.
@psychoboy: there is no easy way up. cheapest craft to go to 102 is adaman gauntlets (150k~per craft). After that its basicly either spam the hexed shit or craft weapons. both of which suck and both are pricey, some more some less. you can also skill on cursed sabatons or breastplate to 101 or 102 if you have the einherjar points, but scintillant ingot costs way more then adaman ingot and it costs einherjar points so meh.
I'm utterly confused why SE didnt introduce soem form of sheeting Imp. wotz ingots and so on, there are plenty of things they could have done, but no they instead introduced thokcha ingot and scarletite ingot. God its retarded.
thanks damane. So much haterade.
@ buffy .. unlike 5 yrs ago, i have a life, bills, a job and a woman now. I thought thats why a lovely community like BG was here. For knowledge and to help others and yourself.
Alch isnt cheap either
Eth squama needed from 102-110 at 500++++k/each(varies by server of course) isnt easy at all.
Not sure how this actually contradicts what I said... never said it wasn't expensive in fact said it was. Just comparatively. Not just in price but also in pure availability which is what I was talking about. I mean other than the ones I mentioned were really easy and some of those they are still expensive to level...
So to reiterate bone, gold are the worst and flat out impossible as well as rediculously expensive (using most recent prices here golds 110 is like 6mil+ a synth and all 105-108 are all 2mil+) followed by alchemy and then smithing. The rest not so bad. Note that while alchemy doesn't have any stupidly rediculous synths it's worst because you just can't get the ingredients like you can in smithing AND all of it's synths past 102 require the squama which is expensive and not common. While the smithing recipes I browsed (albeit not alot of level info posted) were more like 200-300k a synth. It's not a statement on how expensive it is but on how easily or possibly it is to get the items to actually be able to skill up to 110
thanks, I figured as much, just wasnt sure on how to cap sub-craft at craftsman for the blue text...
seems taking craft to 110 is going to be insane lol, I did some research on the new hexed gear and noticed some mats like "Staghorn Coral" almost completely vanished from AH, what happened? did SE nerfed the drop rate or something? very strange..
Yeah staghorn coral and ormula ingot are only from specific T1 cop/toau fights. Neither fight drops anything good and droprate is crap... it's why gold and bone are well so boned. Not really sure what SE was thinking when they did that. Oh hey lets make this craft have tons of stuff dropping off of normal mobs. Let's have this one drop off of random chests and stuff. Let's make this off of t3 vnm drops. Oh let's make this one drop on an allaince fight no one will fight more than once... on top of t3 vnm drops lol. Doesn't even touch the complete disproportionality of the usefulness and/or market of the results from each craft... Some days I think exactly 0 thought went into this and otheres I think it was all on purpose
