But that is the point about the NQs being worthless- the lack of ability to augment them is a big part of making them completely undesirable. Not like there will be enough to ever go around...
SE also has a habit of making things terrible and their attempts to make them less terrible are either nonexistent or sad.
Or occasionally actually make it worse...
Kind of hard to make "new crafting options" make the whole thing worse though, and looking at the new crafted items it looks semi-promising (with the other half being "how's this gonna cover all crafts?")
Hard yes. Impossible no. Like say red curry buns... they made getting to 100 alot harder.
What level are the goldsmithing and leathercraft subs for T1 on a Cursed Breastplate?
Exactly. Before for the most part only people buying dragon meat were people skilling up and a couple of crafters but wasn't as big a market for a 3 hour food. Now people gobble it up for monies. When I was skilling up I'm pretty sure people had ah bots considering how fast they would consistently sell
I think it's appropriate to make a distinction here between competing for profit, and competing for skillups. In this case, your difficulty in purchasing meat arises primarily from the former. If you're not getting a big enough share of the dragon meat supply, the solution to that is fairly straight-forward: cut into the competition's profit margin, or eliminate it entirely. It won't be long before you have all the dragon meat you want.
On the other hand, I do agree that some new recipes can make skilling harder. Look at gold, for example. Not that long ago, orichalcum ingots had fallen to 18-20k each. Snow/flame/etc. rings were selling for around 40-50k, and in the worst case, could be NPCd for 34k. That meant skilling to 100 gold was close to break-even, and no worse than about an 11k loss per (figuring 5k for ores/beads). Recently, SE released orichalcum bullets, and the ingot price immediately jumped. Now the ingots go for 50k each, and you can turn each one into a stack (or two) of bullets that go for 80k each. The rings still sell, even though they're outdated, but only for about 50k. I think it's fair to say that orichalcum bullets (which are synergy and alchemy main) made skilling gold harder.
Oh i tried. But first you have to out buy the ingredients from ah bots in high enough amounts to effect the price long term. Assuming of course the market doesn't just adjust back to some sort of profit
Buy a couple, sell to yourself at price+10k so people will know thats what u want to pay, and start buyin em up. If bots adjust, do it again.
Eventually their profit margin will drop and they will stop buying![]()
Yeah just wasn't really worth doing all that when it's just for a little bit of skilling up![]()
I've been leveling fishing lately, averaged 3-4 lvls per day @200 fishes. After 35 it went down to 2-1.8, I'm 45 atm but my last round was only 0.9 skill ups. Bad luck? Working as intended? Planets not aligned? RNG is random? I've been skilling up on Shall Shells, if that matters.
Bad luck, get a pelican's ring if you want to speed it up. either way you'll generally get to 78 before you build up 85k GPs so it's irrelevant really.
Can also probably switch to nashmau for faster bites, and depending on what you're doing with the shalls switch to shrimp lure for further NPC profit.
Yeah probably just luck. I like getting to higher up real fast on fishing though partly because generally better gping
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/event/vanafest2012/Their job trait Polarity (temporary name) allows geomancers to receive different bonuses to their elemental magic spells depending on the direction they face when casting.
could it be?....
..no way...
..such mechanic could/does exist...
I'm less familiar with the game does facing certain direction ever was a part in the game? I may have forgotten...
my apologies fellow crafters, to even suggest such a possibility..
(srsly, Geo not only have worry about positioning of their party but also elemental direction!? wow this would be very frustrating and difficult in the heat of battle...)
Gosh, I really hope this spurs a conversation about crafting directions, days, and moon phase!!!!!!!
